On Thursday, Oct 1, neighbourhood houses from across Vancouver gathered to share the findings from our Summer Listening Campaign, hear from Vancouver’s mayoral candidates, and celebrate the Neighbourhood House Movement. And what an event it was!
Huge thank you to our fabulous host, Jaylene Tyme ✨, excellent moderator, Trudi Goels 🎙️, the impactful welcome & opening by Nova Wolf of Musqueam🪶, and the community voices 📢 who shared their stories and questions with the candidates.
Thank you to John Oliver Secondary for hosting us at their school, and for bringing the student people power in great numbers, all who supported the event throughout the night.
Massive kudos to our volunteer and staff team, of 50+ people! An event of this size could not have been done without all of you.
Thank you to the candidates, neighbours and voters who came to learn more about neighbourhood houses, the partnership with the City of Vancouver, and how together we can strengthen our impact within our neighbourhoods.
Now it’s up to all of us, the voters of municipalities across BC! Throughout the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing what we heard from our communities and how the candidates responding to our questions. On October 17, vote with neighbourhood houses in hearts and minds!
