Join Abby Sauchuk for an engaging and practical introduction to the fundraising basics; including how to confidently make the ask of corporate donors, where to start building those donor relationships and how to keep them coming back to give. We’ll also explore the role of marketing and social media in fundraising success, followed by time for questions, discussion, and shared ideas.
Abby’s fundraising journey began in 2006 while managing an ESL program for 100 children at an orphanage in South Korea, where she helped grow a small, underfunded program into one with a library, strong volunteer support, and more than $10,000 in resources. Since then, Abby has spent nearly two decades helping nonprofits grow through fundraising, grant writing, event management, and community partnerships, including raising more than $5.5 million and securing $2.4 million in grants during nine years as Director of Development for a local food bank. Today, she works as the Executive Director of Literacy Now Cowichan, a fundraising coach with NxtGen Fundraising, and an independent consultant and speaker supporting organizations across Canada.
