Nancy shared another iteration of the Modern Plus Sign Quilt--such a versatile pattern. She made this for her daughter, who takes nominations for families in need at Christmas. This quilt is Nancy's contribution to the basket of goodies that her daughter is collecting; the basket (and quilt!) will go to a single mom with a 15-month-old daughter.

Nancy Murray shared this quilt at the November meeting. It's a handwork project with EPP hexagons. The design is loosely based on a landscape photo from the Yukon. Nancy started this quilt in 2018 and finished it this year. She says "this project has travelled many miles in our camper". Aren't those the best kind of projects?

This is Megan Hanna's finished Kawandi quilt, which she started last winter in Arita Rai's workshop. She says "if you're looking for a relaxing project, I highly recommend this." Megan used Asian-themed fabric and added her "THREAD ON THREAD" label to the front, rather than the back.

Megan Hanna shared this photo of the Modern Plus Sign quilt that she made for her daughter's best friend's baby. I don't know about you--but I'm loving the neutral colour trend that new moms are choosing for their babies. This young couple loves animals; if you look closely, you can see the sweet-but-not-too-precious animal prints that Megan has included. And the back of the quilt is a good reminder for us all that a little playful creativity is a good thing!

This quilt comes to us from Erika Nikula, who says, "I made this quilt for my Swedish aunt, hoping to send some love her way. The old fashioned typewriter font--found at Our Social Fabric-- spelled some Swedish words that she might find fun. My directions were, 'she likes white & has a new grey couch, but I don't think she'll mind the colourful heart pops!' Thank you to

Laura Gates says, "I've been wanting to make a traditional Jack's Chain quilt ever since I saw Lessa Siegel's Ring Cycles pattern. I must admit, I enjoy it when fabrics can create a beautiful secondary design for both the overall quilt and for the areas left for some quilting texture."
