On this Giving Tuesday would you please join me in giving generously towards the mission of Vancouver Urban Ministries in our work with children with learning disabilities in Vancouver.

Every dollar you give will go directly to helping a child with dyslexia, ADHD or autism acquire the skills to catch up to their grade level in reading writing and math. We are now tutoring in 11 centers in greater Vancouver, The cry for help from parents from low-income homes with neuro-diverse children is growing every year.

Our "Eagle Youth Music School" 🎶🎤🎸is currently recruiting volunteer music teachers to provide private music lesson for inner-city children this fall!

We are looking for a Math Tutor who can help a Grade 10 Student upgrade their math skills on a short-term basis. The support is needed for a grade 10 student in East Vancouver from now until June 20th. In person or online tutoring would be very helpful.

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible events surrounding the Lapu Lapu celebration yesterday.

Our thoughts, prayers and love are with the families who are dealing with such devastating loss, with all who have been impacted by the attack and with the Filipino community as a whole.

May you know the comfort of the Lord during this time of great loss. Psalm 34:18

Hello everyone!

We hope everyone is having an exciting start to the new year of 2025. 🥰

For the past few months, VUM has led fun and meaningful Winter holiday events. ❄️☃️

In November, to kick off our Christmas celebration, VUM and our families visited to see light exhibitions at La Farge Park 💡. We thank the help of West Coast Christian School who kindly offered us the use of their bus for the trip. 🚌

Also, thanks to our wonderful church partners, we were able to provide generous Christmas hampers with gifts and treats including chocolates, gift cards, and toys to over 130 families this Christmas 🎁. We were all so thankful for bringing kindness to our community! 😊😍

In December, VUM also hosted a Christmas Party at the Strathcona Church for our families and kids 🎉🎄🎁.We played Christmas games for the kids to win prizes, made Christmas crafts, and shared wonderful meals. And, of course, we did not forget to sing our Christmas Carols 👀👀.

We were happy that we could wrap up 2024 with many heart-warming events, and we are happy to begin 2025 by building a stronger community! 😊😊

We have our annual “Christmas Hamper Appeal”🎄☃️ coming up!

With high inflation rates, soaring housing costs, and increased expenses, living in BC is more difficult than ever, especially for low-income and refugee families. We are grateful for our supporters in the past years who helped relieve stress for low-income parents and ensured their families had a joyful Christmas.💖🛷

For the 2024 Christmas, will you please join and help us again with the Vancouver Urban Ministries Christmas Hamper Appeal? 😊

We are planning a fun Christmas Party🎄🎊 for low-income families in our programs. The Christmas Hampers will be delivered🚚📦 to our families prior to the party, and we are inviting you to support the families.
