Founded in 1986, the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture represents over 400 member organizations from across the artistic disciplines in British Columbia. The Alliance is BC's leading arts information aggregator and a resource to the arts, culture and heritage community. We advocate for our sector by monitoring public policy, synthesizing issues for our members, supporting and developing research, pro

viding services and professional development, and representing the interests of artists and cultural workers. Our members have access to a comprehensive package of benefits including group health, RRSP, general liability and directors and officers' insurance, and human resources services. Members receive discounts on a range of products and services through our Members' Advantage Program. We also offer a range of services that allow members to publicize and plan their events, gather and network, and access training and skills development opportunities.

🎷 Under the direction of Isabel Leong, Vancouver’s .jazz.orchestra is composed of 18 musicians who combine their love of Studio Ghibli films and video games with a deep reverence for the big bands of the 1940s.

🎷 Their repertoire consists of compositions by Joe Hisaishi featured in Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away and Princess Monokoke, with all music arranged by the band in a style influenced by big bands, wind ensembles, and orchestral music.

💌 Finding Home Among the Floral Tuppies is a relational body of work by 2-spirit Métis artist Carly Nabess ().

💌 Centring the creation of tuppies (dog blankets), this exhibition explores themes of reclamation, Indigenous joy as resistance, longing, and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, love, and healing.

💌 Nabess brings together Métis flat-stitch beadwork and tufting, as well as beaded watercolour landscapes. This exhibition acts as a love letter to Métis kin and a personal journey of reconnecting with tuppie-making.

A respected arts leader, consultant, and former Director of Development at Vancouver Opera, Kayleigh brings extensive experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and relationship-building across the arts and non-profit sectors.

She succeeds Rainbow Robert, who will be stepping into the role of Executive Director at ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island, after four years of dedicated leadership at the BC Alliance. We extend our sincere gratitude to Rainbow for her vision, care and commitment as an advocate for BC's arts and culture and heritage community, and wish her success in this exciting next chapter.

🎭 The Connection Salon Artists Collective presents Mad Pride Festival this summer from June 25 to July 25, 2026, at the Gathering Place Community Centre.

🎭 The free event features a diverse line-up of visual artists, stand-up comics, theatre actors, musicians, poets, and more, all in celebration of art-making by people who identify as living with mental illness, psychiatric disabilities, or “madness.” The festival aims to reclaim the term “mad” while celebrating neurodiversity and challenging psychiatric stigma.

🎭 Programming includes an all-Indigenous Mad Arts Coffee House on June 25 featuring artists like Joseph Dandurand, Trevor Jang, and Randy Tait; an evening of Stand Up for Mental Health led by David Granirer; a double-bill film screening at the Cinematheque titled Desiring Bodies; a visual arts exhibition Gifts of Madness; and more engaging events culminating in a Mad Pride Parade and Cabaret to close out the festival.

⭐ Expression of Interest for Cultural Operating Funding (COF) is now open ⭐

📅 DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2026, 11:59PM

✨ An Expression of Interest (EOI) process is now open for organizations wishing to be considered for Cultural Operating Funding (COF).

✨ To be eligible, organizations need to be cultural organizations based in Vancouver, that have received three Communities and Artists Shifting Culture (CASC), Cultural Equity & Accessibility (CEAF), and/or Cultural Indigenous (CIF) grants, and have a minimum annual operating budget of $150k.

✨ EOIs will be reviewed by staff, resulting in a limited number of organizations invited to submit a full grant application to COF, based on anticipated available funding. Submitting an EOI does not guarantee an invitation to apply or, if invited to reply, to receive a grant.

❗ Please note that:
➤ Organizations who submitted an EOI in 2025 do not need to re-submit unless your information has changed. Staff will review 2025 submissions along with 2026 submissions.
➤ Other core operating streams (CIF and CEAF) are not accepting new applicants, and will reopen in 2028.
➤ Organizations already receiving COF or Cultural Operating Funding – Multi-year (COFM) do not need to submit an EOI.
