The Orion I buses were once a familiar sight in communities throughout BC. The earlier models, such as the one pictured here, featured single-leaf front doors. 6765 began its career in Victoria in 1981 before making its way to Trail a year later. In 2002, the bus was reassigned to Nelson, where it is shown here at the intersection of Baker and Ward. It remained in service until its retirement three years later.

When SkyTrain began revenue service in 1986, Flyer buses were a familiar sight throughout the City of Vancouver. Here are a couple of them on a layover at Nanaimo Station: Flyer E901A (electric trolley) and Flyer D901A (diesel).

Thanks to all who came out to the Hyack Parade as our ‘64 fishbowl drove through, carrying a tribute to the late Chief Rhonda Larrabee.

At first glance, the #22 Knight appears to be travelling the wrong way on Dunsmuir Street. From 1957 to 1972, the street was actually designated as a one-way eastbound. Once the downtown viaducts were completed in 1972, Dunsmuir changed to westbound operation.

In the 1990s, there was a proposal to reroute the #120 Vancouver / New Westminster Station along Broadway, terminating at Broadway and Granville. That plan fell through. Instead, the #120 was later revamped as the #123 Burrard Station / New Westminster Station (Daytime Monday - Saturday) and the #23 Stanley Park / New Westminster Station (Evenings, Sundays, & holidays). Meanwhile, Broadway saw the introduction of the 99 B-Line, providing express bus service between Lougheed Mall and UBC.

A look back on the Olympic Line, operated by Transit Museum Society volunteers!

Built on the Downtown Historic Railway route, this 2010 era streetcar operated between newly built Olympic Village Skytrain Station and Granville Island.

During its three month operation, the two train welcomed 550,000 boardings with “Zero equipment failures, zero station delays and zero injuries” according to Bombardier.
