There’s More to Explore on the Sunshine Coast Passport Tour 🍅

The Sunshine Coast is farmers’ market country, with four weekend farmers’ markets stretching from Sechelt to Powell River, each one anchoring its own stretch of coastline and its own lineup of local vendors. Reachable by ferry from Horseshoe Bay or Comox, the region has built its identity around slow weekends, ocean views, and small producers who know their customers by name. Whether you’re spending the whole day working your way from Sechelt to Powell River or just popping into whichever farmers’ market is running closest to you, the Sunshine Coast Passport Tour is built to help you make the most of it, pairing each farmers’ market with nearby cafes, shops, and local landmarks worth the extra stop.

Pick your farmers’ market and let it set the pace.

Tasting the Philippines: Handpies with Heart 💗 Taste the World with BC Farmers' Markets ⚽️

Sharon grew up understanding food as something bigger than a meal. “I learned that food is more than nourishment. It’s storytelling, generosity, and tradition,” she explains. “My Filipino background shaped the way I think about comfort food: meals made with care, shared with others, and rooted in flavour.”

The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets acknowledges the ongoing wildfire conditions affecting communities across British Columbia. On August 8, 2026, the Province of British Columbia declared a provincial state of emergency in response to the evolving wildfire situation.

Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone impacted, especially those facing evacuation or experiencing disruptions in their communities, including loss and uncertainty during this difficult time.

The Province of B.C. is encouraging people to avoid non-essential travel to regions and communities directly affected by wildfires, evacuation orders, road closures, or other restrictions.

The Province has also made resources and tools available to help protect communities and support emergency response efforts. BCAFM’s Emergency Response Guide is also available to support farmers’ market organizers across B.C. in preparing for and responding to emergencies.
