Please join the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) for a special evening combining Swiss business connections, drinks and refreshments, and Swiss cinema at VIFF 2026!
We’ll begin the evening at The Sandbar on Granville Island, where members and friends can meet, mingle and enjoy drinks and refreshments at their own cost. From there, we’ll walk together to the Lindsay Family Stage to watch Frank & Louis, the latest film by acclaimed Swiss-Italian screenwriter and director Petra Volpe.
Come for the Apéro, stay for the conversation — and then enjoy an evening of Swiss cinema together!

Cheers to Connection: SCCC Business Apéro at Pan Pacific Hotel 🇨🇭
The Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce gathered from far and wide last week for a lively Business Apéro at the Coal Harbour Bar & Bistro, Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver — and it was the perfect evening to reconnect, meet new faces, and celebrate our Swiss community here on the West Coast.
Guests enjoyed drinks against the backdrop of Swiss flags and Vancouver’s North Coast Mountains, took part in a round-robin round of introductions, getting to know fellow members and newcomers alike over great conversation.

🇨🇭 Swiss watchmaking meets Porsche precision

Porsche Design has opened its new Timepieces Manufactory in Grenchen, Switzerland, marking a significant new chapter for the brand’s mechanical watch business and its long-term commitment to Swiss watchmaking.

A historic building has been extensively modernised into a state-of-the-art competence centre, combining advanced technology, expanded production capacity and precision craftsmanship. The facility also embraces the concept of a “transparent manufacture” — allowing visitors to experience the world of Porsche Design Timepieces through exhibitions and guided tours.

The project is a fascinating example of Swiss tradition meeting innovation: historic architecture and watchmaking heritage combined with modern engineering, customisation and sustainable technology. The 3,600-square-metre facility even includes solar panels capable of supplying up to 62% of its energy needs.

Celebrate Swiss National Day with us on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the beautiful Swiss Canadian Mountain Range Association (SCMRA) in Coquitlam.
📍 4141 Quarry Road, Coquitlam, BC V3E 3H5
Admission to the event is just $10 at the gate. Children 16 and under are free. If you've always wanted to see the Lower Mainland from above, optional helicopter rides ($209 early bird special per person) are available, but those do require advance registration. If there are still seats available on August 1st, you might be able to book them on the spot, but the price will be $259.

From Vancouver, allow 50–60 minutes.
Take Highway 1 East, Exit 44 to the Mary Hill Bypass (BC-7B).
Continue toward Quarry Road.

What a moment for Switzerland in Vancouver! 🇨🇭❤️

This photo captures the excitement of the final Swiss supporters' march to BC Place before Switzerland's unforgettable victory over Colombia. Even before kickoff, you could feel the optimism, pride, and incredible sense of community.

Represented in this sea of red were the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver, the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss Society, members of the Swiss Choir, the Swiss community from across Western Canada, and some of the more than 2,000 visiting Swiss fans who travelled to Vancouver to support the Nati.

Now the journey continues.
