Members of Tsawwassen First Nation wish paddlers participating in this year’s Pulling Together Canoe Journey a safe day on the water. Today is the final day of the journey which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Members of Qayqayt First Nation, including Chief Sharel Wright, far left, greeted canoes taking part in this year’s Pulling Together Canoe Journey when they passed by Sapperton Landing Park in New Westminster Wednesday morning. Qayqayt representatives will also be attending the Pulling Together journey’s 25th anniversary celebration on Thursday at Tsawwassen First Nation.

Wednesday: Canoes are expected to do paddles up for Qayqayt First Nation in front of Sapperton Landing Park in New West around 11 to 11:30, passing in front of downtown New West before heading to the Annacis Channel en route to Wellington Point in Delta.
