University Neighbourhoods Association

University Neighbourhoods Association The purpose of the UNA is set out in its constitution and by-laws. The agreement is amended as needed, most recently in 2015.

The University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) delivers municipal-like services to residents living in neighbourhoods in the University of British Columbia (UBC) Point Grey Campus. The University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) was incorporated as a not-for-profit society in 2002 to provide the residents of UBC’s residential neighbourhoods with services that encourage a sustainable community lif

e at UBC. The UNA oversees the major residential neighbourhoods around UBC’s campus: Wesbrook Village, Hampton Place, Chancellor Place, Hawthorn Place, East Campus, and the newly developed Central District. It manages infrastructure such as street and sidewalk repairs, and regulates matters of concern in the public realm such as parking and noise. The areas of responsibility are set out in greater detail in the Neighbourhood Agreement with UBC. The schedules to the agreement are in development. Residents opinions, views and concerns are heard through the UNA who works with external stakeholders to shape future development of residential areas at UBC.

Overnight Closures of Roundabout at W. 16th Ave. and Wesbrook Mall.

Please plan ahead if you'll be travelling through the area. The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit has scheduled a major asphalt repaving project at the W. 16th Ave. and Wesbrook Mall roundabout. It will be fully closed overnight for repaving during the following times:

🚧Thursday, August 27, 8 p.m. to Friday, August 28, 5 a.m.
🚧Friday, August 28, 8 p.m. to Saturday, August 29, 5 a.m.

The roundabout will reopen to traffic during the day between the two overnight closures and is expected to return to normal operation on Saturday morning.

Traffic control personnel will be on site, and drivers will be required to use alternate routes. Nearby residents should also expect construction noise during the evening.

Have you spotted the EV fast chargers on Ross Drive?

Available since spring, the site features three charging stations that can serve up to six vehicles simultaneously and support both CCS and NACS connectors.

The Ross Drive chargers are part of ongoing efforts under the broader Neighbourhood Climate Action Plan to expand sustainable transportation options and advance shared climate action priorities in the UBC community.

Representatives from the UNA, UBC Campus and Community Planning and BC Hydro recently gathered for an opening ceremony recognizing the collaboration behind the project on July 29.

For more details about the EV fast chargers, please visit the UNA website.
