PACE Society’s 32nd Annual General Meeting is happening on Tuesday, November 17 at 6PM at 312 Main.

The Annual General Meeting is a chance for members to hear what PACE has done over the past year, ask questions, and help shape what comes next.

Members also elect board members and vote on important decisions. It helps keep the organization accountable to its members.

Vote. Because what happens at City Hall doesn’t stay at City Hall.

Local decisions have real consequences. They shape our communities, our public spaces, and our everyday lives.

We all have a stake. We all have a reason to care. Showing up matters. In Vancouver’s last municipal election, only 36.3% of registered voters cast a ballot.

October 3, 7, 10 & 13
Advance voting is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at 59 locations across Vancouver.

October 17
Election Day. Voting is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at 85 locations across Vancouver.

If you are voting by mail, your completed ballot must be received by 8:00 PM on October 17.

Where to vote

You can vote at any Vancouver voting location. Choose the location that works best for you.

The City of Vancouver has an online tool where you can find voting locations and information about accessibility, transit, and parking:

vancouver.ca/election/2026/where-to-vote.aspx

Curbside voting will also be available at most voting locations for people who may have difficulty entering the building.

You can apply to vote by mail here:

What to bring

Bring either:

• Two pieces of ID that together show your name and residential address. At least one piece must include your signature.

OR

• One piece of ID that shows your name and signature. You will also need to make a solemn declaration confirming your identity and where you live.

Who can vote

You can vote in Vancouver’s municipal election if you:

• Are 18 or older on Election Day;
• Are a Canadian citizen;
• Have lived in BC for at least six months before registering to vote;
• Live in Vancouver or qualify as a non-resident property elector; and
• Are eligible to vote under provincial law.

You don’t have to wait until Election Day.

You can vote early, vote by mail, or vote on October 17. Choose what works best for you.

We’re starting our holiday donation call-out a little earlier this year as we begin preparing for the colder months ahead.

This holiday season, PACE is collecting donations of new/unused, practical items to share directly with community members. We’re especially looking for gift cards, toiletries and personal care items, warm clothing and accessories, snacks, and other everyday essentials.

It has been one year since we announced the closure of PACE’s operations. Since then, we have been working carefully to rebuild a stronger, more sustainable organization.

Over the past year, PACE became debt-free, completed outstanding funder reporting, maintained our non-profit status, restored our charitable status, strengthened Board governance and financial oversight, rehired two former staff members, and resumed our Occupational Health and Safety Program and support services. We are also preparing to relaunch our legal clinic in fall 2026 and are now operating out of 312 Main.

We also completed a community needs assessment and strategic planning process informed by s*x workers, former PACE staff, and previous Board members. Participants were provided with honoraria, cultural safety supports, and counselling support to help make their involvement meaningful and respectful.

There is still more work ahead, but we are proud to pause and recognize how far PACE has come.

Thank you to everyone who believed in PACE, helped us through this period of rebuilding, and remains part of our journey forward 🤍

July surprise: PACE’s Occupational Health and Safety Program is back.

This peer-led program supports the health, safety, and rights of s*x workers through practical, harm reduction-based education.

The PACE Legal Clinic also returns this November.

Supported by law students from Pro Bono Students Canada under the supervision of a lawyer, the clinic will offer free legal information, referrals, resource navigation, and legal advice for s*x workers.

PACE Society is honoured and humbled to receive the 2026 Excellence in Community-Campus Research Partnership Award through the CBRCanada Awards, recognizing the PACE Society and CARE Study collaboration.

As part of this recognition, PACE has received a $5,000 award to support our continued community-based work.

CARE is a participatory action research study focused on criminalization, health equity, and community-led safety and mutual aid interventions.

This award belongs to all the
s*x workers who have shaped this work through their advocacy, care, and leadership.

CBRCanada shared that this year’s adjudication process was exceptionally competitive, with many high-caliber nominations from across Canada. The committee recognized the long-standing partnership between PACE and SFU, the strength of the projects completed through this collaboration, and the work’s deep commitment to centering s*x worker voices.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Jennie Pearson, Dr. Andrea Krüsi, and the PACE Society & CARE Study Collaboration Team for their leadership, partnership, and commitment.

Thank you to CBRCanada for recognizing this partnership and the power of community-based research in action.
