Inclusive hiring can start with clear communication. Plain language helps make job postings and workplace communication more accessible.

Try to use:
- shorter sentences.
- simple words.
- clear use of headings.

Since Accessibility Standards Canada published its Plain Language Standard in 2025, you may have been wondering: is plain language only an issue for your Comms team?

Plain language principles help you ensure that any communication is clear to its intended audience. Human Resources and Recruitment teams can use plain language techniques to improve job postings, interview questions, and policies.

In their upcoming free webinar, Trish Kelly from Untapped Accessibility will introduce the key tenets of plain language and how to use them to help you attract talent and create an inclusive culture.

For this practical, hands-on workshop, registrants are encouraged to bring an example of their organizations’ recruitment communications to work on during the session. Participants will have time to work independently to apply the concepts discussed.

Date: June 18th
Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Pacific
