Our Resident Advisory Council (RAC) has been hard at work this year, supporting EIC and the DTES community in so many ways! 🙌

From group goal-setting strategies to conflict resolution and de-escalation workshops, we’re tackling it all. We’re also mobilizing around the upcoming municipal by-election on April 5th and continuing to promote the DTES Opportunities Database (https://opportunities.exchangeced.com/).

EIC has recently created a database to showcase the full spectrum of opportunities in the Downtown Eastside, including peer work, supported employment, training and skills development, community connections, and volunteering. This database serves as a one-stop resource hub that is easy to use, simple to navigate, and provides access to income-generating opportunities that enhance well-being.

It is an excellent resource for non-profit staff, referral agencies, and individuals seeking supportive opportunities—all in one place!

EIC hosted our RAC (Resident Advisory Council) Christmas Party yesterday at 312 Main! 🥳🎄🎅🏽

We enjoyed holiday turkey dinners catered by HAVE Café 🦃, listened to funky Christmas music 🎶, exchanged holiday cards, and even played Christmas-themed Pictionary ✍️! A big thank you to our RAC members for their ongoing contributions to this group, to Exchange Inner City, and to the DTES community. 🙏🏼

We’re excited about the projects and opportunities we have coming up in 2025, and look forward to continuing our collaborations with our community partners and building on what we’ve developed together over the past year.

We had a great Resident Advisory Council (RAC) meeting this week!! 🙌 EIC is grateful for the ongoing dedication and involvement that our RAC members provide to our organization. Their lived experience helps to influence and guide EIC’s processes and projects on community economic development (CED) in the Downtown Eastside. 🫡🫱🏼‍🫲🏽✍️👏🏼💙
