Take this as your sign to get your team out of the office and into the community.

Food Stash Foundation hosts group volunteer sessions for teams of up to 25, giving employees a hands-on look at food waste and food insecurity in Vancouver. Instead of another day at the desk, your team could spend a couple of hours sorting rescued food, packing boxes, or helping market members shop.

Team volunteering has real, measurable upside: stronger employee engagement, a sharper sense of shared purpose, and a brand that shows up for the community it operates in.

Sessions run 2–3 hours at our Vancouver warehouse, with flexible weekday shifts to fit your team's schedule. We also offer an in-depth presentation on the scale of food waste and food insecurity for teams who want context alongside the hands-on work.

100% of past group volunteers say they'd recommend it to a colleague.

If your organization is looking for a team-building day with actual substance, let's talk. Link below to book a session for your team.

Turn your next team outing into something that actually matters. Volunteer with Food Stash Foundation and help us prevent good food from going to waste.

Bad time to be marked as lettuce 🥬🤢 Being mislabelled is one of many reasons that we end up rescuing food; it's perfectly fine but can't be sold due to incorrect packaging.

Other reasons we've rescued food:
✨Misprinted best before date
✨Frozen pizza ingredients put on in the wrong order
✨Two-legged carrots

Food Stash delivers a variety of food to 53 nonprofit community partner organizations, including many groups supporting youth, like Broadway Youth Resource Centre - BYRC . We are proud to be able to support BYRC and hundreds of youth they serve every week with regular donations of nutritious food for their programs - including community meals, drop-in snacks, and a fridge/pantry program - thanks in part to a Telus Community Board grant.

Here is a quote from our most recent community partner survey:
"[This program has helped] youth to be able to take home food items BYRC would not typically have to offer/provide." - BYRC staff

A huge thank you to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation for its generous support.

As part of PNW Climate Week, Food Stash Foundation is hosting an evening that connects two urgent issues: food waste and food insecurity.

In Canada, 47% of the food we produce is never eaten, and if food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world. At the same time, 1 in 4 Canadian households experience food insecurity, a problem rooted in poverty that surplus food alone can't solve.

Join us team for a conversation on how these issues show up locally in Vancouver, followed by interactive breakout groups where we'll brainstorm action at every level - from small changes in our own kitchens to advocacy for bigger systemic change.

🗓️ Monday, July 13 | 6:00–8:00 PM
