Our cultural groups include choir, orchestra and da The Hall is available for private rental.

Located in Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood, the AUUC Vancouver hosts events open to the entire community. In addition to our delicious handmade perogies, we also offer vegetarian borshch, cabbages rolls and tasty Ukrainian sausage. The Association of United Ukrainian Canadians (AUUC) in Vancouver has been an integral part of its community for generations. Celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2018,

it continues to provide a cultural link to its members: Vancouver Folk Orchestra, which is the largest of its kind in the Lower Mainland; an impressive performing dance troupe, Dovbush; and Barvinok Choir, a large and active group of men and women. The Dovbush School of Ukrainian Dance, for children aged 3-16 years, reflects the diversity of our city and draws people from throughout the neighbourhood as well as across the Lower Mainland, who seek out its precise and creative instruction. The Ukrainian Hall continues to host many community and artistic events, from the Heart of the City Festival to theatre productions and live music. Its proximity to the city centre makes it ideal for any event.

A (late) message from the AUUC Vancouver Branch in recognition of Ukrainian Independence Day.

"Today (August 24th, 2026) marks the 35th Anniversary of Ukrainian Independence Day recognizing Ukraine’s existence as a sovereign country with a proud heritage and a rich and unique culture. We at the AUUC Vancouver wish to acknowledge and celebrate the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their determination to retain their autonomy throughout the country’s history and particularly at this time of strife.

Independence Day acknowledges more than just the signing of a declaration or the recording of a legal document. It celebrates the concept of individuality and self-determination for a people, a culture, and a heritage that is valued and worthy of recognition and preservation. Ukrainians and their descendants throughout the world continue to honour their Ukrainian heritage through literature, music, dance, and folk traditions preserving the beauty and spirit of Ukrainian culture.

The AUUC Vancouver Branch stands with the Ukrainian people in celebrating their independence, and their wishes for a peaceful life and self-determination for their country. May there be many more Independence Day anniversaries for the people of Ukraine.
On behalf of the AUUC Vancouver Branch, we wish Ukrainians everywhere a Happy Independence Day.

Sincerely,
Janice Beck
President, AUUC Vancouver Branch"
