Thank You for Making MPNH PRIDE BBQ So Special! 🌈💖

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in, contributed to, and supported our MPNH PRIDE BBQ Party this year! Whether you volunteered, shared your talents, supported our vendors, brought family and friends, donated, or simply joined us to celebrate, you helped make the day truly special. 🌈❤️

We’re also thrilled to share that we raised $ 712.30 for ! 🎉 Of that total, $ 140 came from the Pay-What-You-Can haircuts generously provided by ! ✂️

This would not have been possible without our dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, local businesses and vendors, performers, supporters, families, friends, and the entire Mount Pleasant community. Thank you for helping us celebrate PRIDE while giving back to our community!

We’re still collecting photos and videos from the event. If you have any you’d like to share, please send them our way! We’d love to include them in our upcoming PRIDE post and celebrate the memories we created together.

Barb’s experience supporting newcomer families has brought meaningful connections, unexpected encounters, and the opportunity to learn from the women she meets. 🌈 Our MPNH PRIDE BBQ Party 2026 is happening tomorrow, Friday, August 14, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM here at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (800 E Broadway, Vancouver)! 🌈💛

🎟️ We kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the event so we can check you in and provide your MPNH PRIDE BBQ Party Stamp Card. Your stamp card will serve as your meal ticket and will also give you an entry into our Raffle Grand Prize Draw, featuring:

🍝 Mercato di Luigi () – Pasta & pasta sauce
🧘 Local Yoga Studio (.yogastudio) – 2-week unlimited pass ($40 value)
🥖☕ Ba Le Deli and Bakery (.bale) & Hanoi Drip Coffee (.coffee) – $20 gift card

The LGBTQ+ community is an important part of the Canadian fabric, and celebrating Pride helps create a society where everyone can feel safe, respected, and proud of who they are.”

💙💜💚 For our twenty-sixth story in 50 Stories for 50 Years, we reflect on Adam and Morgan’s journey from living across the street from Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House to becoming part of the MPNH community through their daughter Sasha’s preschool experience.

During the pandemic, MPNH provided Sasha with friendship, connection, and new experiences, while supporting Adam and Morgan through an uncertain time. Their story highlights the importance of community, intergenerational connections, and ensuring everyone has access to support and belonging. 💙💜💚
