The clinics may be finished, but fundraising continues until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 2 — and there’s still time to help us reach the finish line.

Pro Bono Going Public is entering its 3rd and FINAL service week.

We’re heading into the home stretch, and we have lots to celebrate already:

- 139 lawyers have volunteered their time
- 278 clients have received free legal advice
- Last Thursday’s clinic at the Vancouver Art Gallery was a huge success.

And we’re thrilled to share that we’re now 75% of the way to our fundraising goal!

But we’re not there yet. There’s still one more week of clinics — and we’re especially excited to be returning to Victoria on September 23 for an in-person clinic at the BC Legislature. It’s our first Victoria PBGP clinic in several years, and we can’t wait to bring Pro Bono Going Public back to the Island.

There’s still time to support a lawyer, start your own fundraising campaign, or make a donation and help us reach our goal.

Pro Bono Going Public runs until September 25, with fundraising open until October 2.

Every donation helps Access Pro Bono provide free legal services to people across BC who otherwise might not be able to afford them.

Pro Bono Going Public is off to a great start!

So far, 42 lawyers have provided legal advice to 84 clients across the province — including in person at the Surrey Civic Centre last Friday.

And we’re already halfway to our fundraising goal!

In this session, participants will examine common forms and manifestations of Islamophobia in policing, including racial and religious profiling, surveillance, discrimination, and barriers to reporting incidents. The workshop will also provide an overview of the rights and protections available to Muslim community members when interacting with law enforcement.

About the speakers:

- Hasan Alam is a human rights and labour lawyer.

- Natalie Chan is a Legal Counsel at the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, where she practices administrative law, health law and policy, and professional regulation.
