Libero Magazine

Libero Magazine We are a Vancouver-based nonprofit community & magazine providing peer support for mental health.

Libero is a Vancouver-based nonprofit mental health magazine and community (incorporation number: S—0062089). We believe in the power of sharing stories and celebrating freedom. OUR MISSION is to champion mental health and foster community through sharing stories and celebrating freedom. OUR VISION is for a world free from stigma, where no one feels alone. Through our mental health focused magazine and online community, we cover a variety of topics ranging from managing anxiety and overcoming depression to recovering from eating disorders and advocating body positivity. Our articles are written by people like you and are meant to offer peer support to those living with mental health conditions. In addition to our own articles, we partner with mental health bloggers and publish their work on our site. This helps increase their exposure as writers and, in turn, provides the Libero Community with even more great content.

✨ ISSUE 01 COVER REVEAL ✨

Our debut cover features an illustration by local, Vancouver-based artist Paige Jung, and we are OBSESSED. We love how the design puts community and slowness at the forefront and features calming colours and summer vibes. ☀️🌳

THE WAIT IS OVER! ✨

Submissions are officially OPEN for Issue #1 of our new print 'zine! 📖

We are building a welcoming, inclusive home for mental health storytelling. Whether you’ve been writing for years or are sharing your story for the very first time, there's a page for you.

Swipe through the carousel to see exactly what we're looking for or keep reading below👇

📝 What We’re Looking For:

- OUR VOICE: honest storytelling aimed at connecting with the reader. Think of a supportive letter to a friend rather than a diary entry or informational piece ("how I" instead of "how to").

- WRITTEN: Creative non-fiction, personal essays, and poetry under 600 words (so we can squeeze in as many community voices as possible!).

- VISUAL: Photography, art, doodles, and scrapbook pages. No professional background required!

- INCLUSIVITY FIRST: We encourage submissions from BIPOC, LGBTQ+ creators, neurodivergent individuals, and folks of all body sizes, shapes, and abilities.

🗓️ The Details:

DEADLINE: JUNE 15TH
