95,000 is hard to picture.

So picture this:
If you lined up 95,000 pet crates end to end, they would stretch for roughly 45 miles.

That is the milestone Wings of Rescue is about to reach.

Nearly 45 miles of second chances.
45 miles of pets who needed somewhere else to go.
45 miles of lives moved out of overcrowded shelters and toward safety.

And every single mile was made possible by people who believed those lives were worth saving.

We’re almost at 95,000 pets flown.

Thank you for helping us get them there.

FOSTER TO ADOPT: CHICO
AGE: approx 4 years
WEIGHT: 31 pounds
LOCATION: N. Vancouver
GENDER: Male

CATS: yes
DOGS: yes bur preference to single dog home or experienced owner that understands food guarding around other dogs
KIDS: 10 and up recommended
HOUSE TRAINED: yes

Chico is such a happy pup with so much personality packed into his compact little body. This sweet boy loves people and will flop on his back for pets and attention. Chico is always on the lookout for new dog friends and can get a little overzealous on walks. He loves playing with other dogs and chasing a ball. Chico is also happy to lounge and spend hours chewing an antler, toy or bone. He is quite rambunctious in play so we would recommend a home with no young children. Chico has no interest in cats and loves dogs but is protective of his food.

Chico came to us with terrible flea dermatitis and welts all over his back. He is now healthy and thriving & ready to find his forever home.

To apply for Chico please complete the following and our adoption team will reach out to you by email or phone.

FOSTER TO ADOPT: Grace (pending adoption)
AGE: 3.5
WEIGHT: 30 lbs
LOCATION: LANGLEY BC

DOG FRIENDLY: yes
PEOPLE FRIENDLY: yes
CHILD FRIENDLY: yes
CAT FRIENDLY: so far so good

Are you looking for the perfect dog? Then today might just be your lucky day! How this dog was dumped multiple times and then found as a stray is completely beyond us. Grace is as her name suggests, sweet, kind gentle and loving. She is the perfect blend of snuggly and greyhound like Zoomies , wrapped in a beautiful sleek package.

She has heterochromia (one striking blue eye and one warm brown eye) and the body of a whippet. Grace walks beautifully on leash, loves being outside, loves all other dogs (that we’ve seen) and seldom barks. She shows prey drive for rabbits outside but is amazing with both dogs and cats inside the house. She is working on keeping her paws off the counters though - so keep those delicious snacks out of sight! Loving and great with recall, this stunning pup is ready and more deserving than ever of her forever family.

The world’s watching soccer. We’re watching shelter space and the rising dangerous temps.

While headlines are focused on the biggest tournament in the world, our team is focused on something else entirely.

Yesterday we flew.

Today we flew again.

This Saturday, we’ll do it all over again.

Hundreds of highly adoptable dogs and cats are leaving overcrowded shelters for communities where families are already waiting to meet them.

But let’s be honest. Transportation isn’t the solution to pet overpopulation.

Spay and neuter is.

Until affordable, accessible spay and neuter becomes the norm, shelters will continue to fight an uphill battle, especially in the South where warm weather means kittens and puppies keep arriving.

This is an animal welfare crisis.

And until it isn’t, we’ll keep showing up.
