Education That Feeds Hope
At Yavins Education Centre, Uganda, education is about more than books.

It is about giving children the strength to learn.
Many of our students arrive at school hungry because regular meals are not guaranteed at home. Through our school farm, poultry, and goat projects, children receive nutritious foods such as fresh eggs and, when available, goat meat.

These simple meals improve their health, concentration, and hope for the future.
Our farm is also a classroom. Children learn practical agriculture, animal care, and sustainable farming skills while helping grow the food that nourishes them. It is education that feeds both minds and bodies.

We can work with foreign and local schools, colleges, agricultural institutions, and supporters who believe in sustainable education to partner with Yavins Education Centre. Together, we can help children learn, grow, and thrive through farming.

A Permanent Water Well: A Gift That Will Change Lives.

Water is life, yet for the children at Yavins Education Centre, access to clean water remains one of our greatest challenges. The prolonged drought has forced the school to spend precious resources purchasing water—a solution that is simply not sustainable.
Every dollar spent buying water is a dollar that could have supported a child's education, nutrition, or healthcare.

We are so grateful & filled with gratitude for our wonderful friends in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, who have stepped forward to raise funds for a permanent water well. Their compassion and commitment are giving hope to hundreds of vulnerable children.
Drilling a borehole is a costly project, but its impact will last for generations.

A reliable source of clean water will provide safe drinking water, improve sanitation, support school gardens, and allow the children to learn in a healthier environment without the constant worry of water shortages.

Together, we can transform this dream into a lasting legacy. Thank you to everyone standing with Yavins Education Centre and helping bring the gift of clean water to the children who need it most.

Water Challenges in the Dry Season at Yavins Education Centre

During the dry season, clean water is hard to access at Yavins Education Centre. Some children arrive tired after walking long distances to fetch water, which affects attendance and learning.

Limited water also makes it harder to keep classrooms clean, prepare meals safely, and maintain hygiene. Even handwashing and drinking enough water become difficult.

For families, the dry season adds pressure as they balance water for home and school needs. Reliable water access is essential for children’s health and education.

Water support solutions at schools like Yavins Education Centre do help children learn in a healthier environment and stay focused on their future.

The Value of Water and Education at the Yavins Education Centre

Around the world, millions of vulnerable children face a daily struggle for something many take for granted — clean water. Without it, children are more vulnerable to illness, miss valuable school time, and face barriers to learning and opportunity.

At the Yavins Education Centre in Uganda, Yavin Society International is helping address these challenges by improving access to clean water and creating a healthier environment where children can learn and thrive.

Clean water supports better health, hygiene, and allows students to focus on their education and future dreams.

Education and clean water go hand in hand. Together, they create hope and open doors to brighter futures.
The drought is so bad that we spend money buying such water trucks to fill up the school tanks.
It costs us USD 300 for this water.

The Love from Canada for Yavin Society International Made a Difference

How compassion crossed borders to bring hope to children in East Africa
Kindness has the power to travel across oceans and change lives.
Through Yavin Society International, love from Canada and caring hearts around the world are bringing hope to children facing difficult circumstances in East Africa.

One touching story is that of Lynet, a brave 9-year-old girl who survived by selling dangerous gasoline and tomatoes along the roadside. While many children carried books to school, Lynet carried burdens far beyond her age.

Hope arrived through the beautiful hearts of younger girls from the Canadian girls from one North Surrey temple, who donated school materials to support children in need. Their kindness made a real difference in Lynet’s life. The books and supplies were more than donations — they were a message that said, you matter, your future matters, and you are not forgotten.

Yavin Society International & Yavins Education Centre also extends heartfelt thanks to Canadians through Lady Jules from Surrey in Vancouver, Canada, whose generous donation of sports materials brought joy and excitement to many children.

Today, the Canadian flag in East Africa has become a symbol of hope — proof that compassion knows no borders.
To every volunteer and donor: never give up on making a difference. The road from hardship to hope is never easy, but it is possible.
