24 hr Caregiver (Personal Support Worker) - VAND01PG
Location: Vanderhoof, BC
Job description:
We are recruiting for a Personal Support Workers to support a Quadriplegic male employer in all activities of daily living.
A successful candidate will be someone who is enthusiastic about helping others, likes animals and enjoys quieter living.
Please read the location and make sure you are able to commute and are comfortable with the distance.
Location:
- Vanderhoof B.C (near Surprise Drive and Nulki Lake)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- 24-hours, 8am start time
- 7-days a week split between caregivers
- Morning routine, afternoon/lunch assistance and bedtime routine; approximately 9 hours of work a day
- Some interventions at night, but rare as the employer can sleep through the night
- Days to be discussed with the employer
Compensation:
- $260 a day
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Daily personal care such as bathing, dressing, washroom care, grooming
- Assist the client with positioning and transfers using Hoyer floor lift
- Medication and Insulin administration
- Meal preparation and light housekeeping
Required Qualifications:
- Flexible schedule required
- Driver’s License (Class 5 License) and vehicle is required
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with 2 medium sized dogs required
- Comfortable with medical Ma*****na (client smokes outside) required
- Willingness to be trained required
- Willingness to travel to the employers location required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience is an asset
- CPR training is an asset
