We are thrilled for our next event, 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝙉𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬. This is the first event of Griffin Art Project's Special 10th Anniversary roundtable discussion series, a collaboration with CASV and Griffin Art Projects and in partnership with the Vancouver Art Gallery.

We are delighted to feature leading art philanthropists and collectors Jane Irwin, Inna Obrian, Bruce Munro Wright, as well as artist Shawn Hunt and others. They will discuss the importance of investment and belief in early career talent, mentorship, and crucial financial support.

Oh, how the time flies! We look back at three incredible Member-Only events that took place over the last couple of months.

At the end of March, we visited .aballe on Granville Island, where we had a private tour with artist of his intriguing exhibition, 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔, which "investigates the parallels between architectural spikes and analogous defensive structures found in the natural world".

At the start of May, we had a lively visit to the studio of the gracious Ian Wallace. Stories were shared, recent work revisited, and new projects were discussed.

And this past week, our members had a special preview of 𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑿𝑻𝑬𝑵, ' exhibition of 10 exceptional Vancouver collections, in honour of their 10th anniversary. (More pics coming in the next post!)

We are thrilled for an exceptional opportunity to visit the collection of Brigitte and Henning Freybe. The collectors have played a major role in championing contemporary art in the city since Brigitte Freybe co-founded the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver in 1972.

Brigitte and Henning will share insights into their collecting history and their support of Canadian and international artists since 1973. The couple also established Griffin Art Projects in 2015.

A small reception will be held after the tour, where members will have the chance to meet the artists in residence from Griffin Art Projects 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨.
