Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group UCAG aims to represent modern Ukraine in Canada through arts, culture and social/political activity

Our strategic goal is to create a new image of Ukraine through educational and cultural initiatives. We work on a project basis to be able to quickly respond to events in the face of Russian renewed aggression against Ukraine.

Join us to celebrate 35 Years of Ukrainian Independence

This August marks 35 years of Ukraine’s independence—a journey marked by courage, heartbreak, resilience, and pride.

Through war and hardship, Ukrainians continue to rise: defending our land, winning championships, and sharing our stories with the world. The past 4.5 years have only strengthened our resilience—and our unity.

Now more than ever, standing together matters.

To support one another. To remind the world that we’re still fighting. So no one dares ask, “Wait, isn’t the war over?”

Join us on August 23 at 6 PM on Burrard Bridge in Vancouver.

Bring your flags, wear your colours, and take part in unfurling a 550-metre Ukrainian flag ribbon—a powerful symbol of unity, strength, and freedom.

On this Canada Day, we honour the True North strong and free — a country that stands for democracy, human rights, and solidarity.

From coast to coast, we thank Canadians for standing with Ukraine. Together, we defend freedom — at home and abroad.

In 2022, we couldn’t stand by and do nothing.

With your support and donations, we launched a rehabilitation program for Ukrainian children who had lost a parent to the war.

Over the past four years, we have continuously developed and improved the program, helping 460 children on their journey toward healing.

What started as a single program has grown into something much bigger.

Today, it has evolved into Raise.UA — a comprehensive mental recovery ecosystem in Ukraine.

Raise.UA supports children affected by war, trains Ukrainian specialists in world-class trauma-informed methodologies, and engages veterans as mentors through adaptive sports.

Our mission is to build a resilient generation by developing a comprehensive mental recovery ecosystem that can support thousands of children across Ukraine.

Bringing joy to children is always a special privilege.

Thanks to the generosity of Canadian people and everyone who contributed during the Carol of the Bells initiative, 39 children in the Raise.UA ecosystem received thoughtful gifts. Their smiles are the greatest reward.

A heartfelt thank you to all supporters who helped make this possible. Together, we are creating brighter moments for children who need care and attention. 💙💛 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇦

Ukrainians around the world are coming together to celebrate Vyshyvanka Day — sharing our traditions, our stories, and the strength that keeps our communities united.

On May 21, people in different countries will post photos in vyshyvankas, share family memories, and remind the world that Ukrainian culture continues to live, grow, and inspire across generations.

Wear your vyshyvanka, post a photo with your city and country, and join the global movement

Let’s show how powerful Ukrainian heritage can be when people around the world stand together

Four years.

Hundreds of volunteer hours.
Countless projects, conversations, hard calls, and moments where life got in the way — and we showed up anyway.

Every person on this team had their own life, challenges and struggles. Nobody did this under easy conditions. Nobody had extra hours to spare. And yet, for four years, these people kept coming back. To the work, to each other, to the mission.

That kind of showing up doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a choice, made over and over again.

We are deeply grateful to our team in Canada and in Ukraine, and to everyone who believed in this vision before it had a name. Because behind every meaningful cause, there are always people. People who stayed when it was hard. People who pushed when it felt impossible.

For four years, we moved in one direction. Going deeper, reaching wider, growing into something bigger than where we started.

That growth has brought us here: Raise.UA, a comprehensive mental recovery ecosystem for Ukraine’s resilient generation.

An international initiative where healing meets action: supporting children who have lost their parents, training Ukrainian specialists in world-class methodologies, and engaging veterans as peer-to-peer mentors.

Building a Resilient Generation is not just our next chapter.
It’s what we’ve been building toward all along.

Thank you to everyone who believed, contributed, and built this with us.

Happy 4 years, Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group 💙💛

Yesterday, history was made 🇺🇦🇨🇦

Vancouver City Council passed the motion — and our community will finally have a Holodomor Memorial in our city.

After more than a decade of effort, persistence, and advocacy, this moment has come. What once felt uncertain is now becoming reality.

This memorial is more than a monument.
It is the rightful recognition of millions of lives lost.
It is Ukrainian history taking its place in Vancouver’s public space.
It is a statement that this truth will not be erased.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mayor and Vancouver City Council for this decision.

Deep gratitude to the Holodomor Committee of Vancouver — and to all those who worked for years to make this possible, who advocated, organized, and never gave up on this vision.

Thank you to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, UCC Vancouver Branch , , and everyone who contributed to bringing this project forward.

We are also grateful to the Estonian and Hong Kong communities for standing with us in solidarity.

And to everyone who showed up — your presence mattered.

This is not the end.
This is the beginning.

There is still much work ahead as UCC Vancouver Branch continues to move this project forward — but today, we took a historic step.
