The Mount Pleasant Family Centre still needs our community’s support πŸ’™

Funding continues to be a real challenge, and we’re finding new ways to help keep the Centre open and serving local families.

Our MPFC tote bags are $25, with all proceeds going directly toward supporting the Centre. Every tote purchased is a small but meaningful way to help us keep our doors open. 🫢

Like many nonprofits, the Mount Pleasant Family Centre continues to face funding challenges. We’re finding new ways to help sustain the Centre and the programs so many local families rely on.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Canada Together celebration on June 30!

The day was filled with fun activities, including face painting, temporary tattoos, special family art project, crafts, circle time with songs and stories, and a Canada Day cake!

A special thank you to MPFCS staff, summer students, and amazing volunteers whose hard work made this event possible.

This year’s celebration began with the unveiling of a special commemorative plaque recognizing the Family Centre’s 50th anniversary. This project was made possible through the support of the Vancouver Heritage Foundation (VHF) (Vancouver Heritage Foundation ).

We are grateful to our speakers for sharing their knowledge, memories, and experiences:

We are hiring a Family Resource Program Assistant!

Funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program, this position supports the programs and services offered at the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society. The Program Assistant participates in all aspects of the daily operation of our playroom. They plan and implement activities to support children’s healthy growth and development, work with Family Centre supervisory staff to promote connections among diverse groups of parents, support administrative tasks, and assist with the promotion and implementation of special summer programs.

As part of the Canada Summer Jobs program applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment and be returning to school in the fall of 2026.
