Hey everyone. There’s still two roles up for grabs in our upcoming stages reading. Are you:

GEOFFREY CRAYON (Any, 40-50): The suave, kindly, and omniscient narrator.

KERMIT (M, 20-30): Brom’s friend and member of the Sleepy Hollow Boys.

Show Details:
Run Dates: October 31 (7:30pm) and November 1 (2pm), 2026 at Progress Lab 1422.
Rehearsals: Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons from October 12 to 31 (plus Tuesday, October 12).

Notes:
Actors to submit self-tape auditions via file transfer. If interested, please send your headshot and resume to [email protected] and you will receive further instructions.

Auditions are open to everyone regardless of background, race, gender, orientation, or ability. We encourage everyone to audition as we will be casting whoever is best for the role.

Now you can put your empty bottles and cans to even better use! The next time you drop your bottles, cans, and tetra packs off at the Return-It Depot for recycling, you can donate your proceeds to Pivot Theatre. If you have already signed up for the Encorp Pacific (Canada) Express program, it’s super easy to do:

Drop your bags off at the nearest Return-It depot
Log into you account at https://app.return-it.ca/login
Select “Redeem Funds”
Search for Pivot Theatre, and follow the instructions

That’s it! Your recycled items will go toward helping put on our upcoming season.

AUDITIONS!!

Time to get your spooky on! On September 27 and 28, 2026, Pivot Theatre is holding auditions for our fifth annual Halloween staged reading, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, directed by Mark “Sparky” MacDonald.

Auditions start at 6pm at Progress Lab (1422 William Street, Vancouver). Actors will be seen in order of their arrival, and auditions will be cold reads from the script. For more info and character breakdowns, head over to Pivot’s website (https://pivottheatre.ca/auditions/). See you there!

Join Pivot’s workshop guru, Samantha Alexandra, for this four-session intensive that invites beginner to intermediate actors to dive deep into focused scene work and character exploration. Working in pairs, participants will analyze, rehearse, and perform scenes drawn from contemporary and classical plays in a fun, safe, and supportive environment that allows them to take risks and grow as an artist. Each session builds toward stronger emotional truth, partner connection, and creative confidence, culminating in an informal showing and group feedback discussion.

Dates: July 14, 18, 21, and 25, 2026
Ages: 16+

Price: $150/person (early bird discount until July 3rd)

We’d like to introduce you to Samantha Alexandra, the creator of our upcoming workshop, “The Magic Chair”.

Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Samantha has been immersed in the theatre since childhood. She earned her BFA in theatre from Memorial University in 2014, and her BEd in drama education from UBC in 2020.

Samantha has extensive training in voice, movement, scene study and monologue work, clowning, and a range of acting techniques including Stanislavski, Alexander, and animal embodiment. She has also trained in puppetry, voice acting, and improv. Samantha believes in working organically with actors of all ages and fostering a collaborative storytelling process.

Now based in Vancouver, Samantha is a public school educator and also an actor, with credits including “Father Tartuffe” (Arts Club), “Our Town”, “Sylvia”, “Emilia”, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, “Abandon Hope Mabel Dorothy”, “The Penelopiad”, “The Taming of the Shrew”, and “In the Next Room”. She directed “The Revolutionists” and “The Birds and The Bees” at Vagabond Players, and was most recently seen in “Tempting Providence” with Little Dippers Theatre.
