Meaningful volunteering for your team. 🌿

Through Corporate Wave, we create hands-on volunteer experiences that bring teams together while supporting local organizations and communities.

This time, we teamed up with Wildscaping Our Neighbourhood Society to get outside, get our hands dirty, and give back together.

Yesterday, on September 19th, Web Of Life Society joined Boro and Beyond Media for a huge multi-location cleanup on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam!

Web Of Life organized a small side quest cleanup in a section of forest that has been on our radar for quite a while. You can see the results with two amazing volunteers who put in hard work to help extract it from the forest 🫶
~
The main abandoned encampment we cleaned up was barely visible during the first survey work and was completely buried in years of needle duff and moss. One volunteer verified the date of an old stick of deodorant we found at the camp to somewhere between 2007 and 2010, meaning this encampment and all the trash has been sitting in the forest for potentially 16-19 years!!

We love doing this work, and making a tangible impact in our ecosystems for all the wildlife, the beautification, and reducing microplastics from entering the soil and moving up the food chain, and also preventing harmful chemicals and plastics from getting into our sensitive waterways
~
We have another massive cleanup along the northern Coquitlam River for BC River's Day on September 27th with Captain Scott Legacy Society , and invasive species removal and restoration events planned for this October in Port Coquitlam with Captain Scott Legacy, as well as another big shoreline cleanup in Richmond for October 11th. Next tire clean up: October 11, 2026!

102 tires. 😳

On Saturday, September 5, we headed to the Richmond shoreline along the D**e Trail with Web of Life and ended up collecting 102 tires from the shoreline and surrounding area.

That’s 102 gone, but there are still 218 to go.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty with us, and to Web of Life for making this cleanup series possible.

This series is also supported by the City of Richmond’s Environmental Enhancement and Food Security Grant. Thank you to the City of Richmond for helping us bring these cleanups to life!
