Saturday, August 22nd at 10am, Web Of Life Society & Captain Scott Legacy Society are teaming up to clean the shoreline of Richmond! We'll be removing debris and trash from the shoreline and trail near the D**e Road/Trail, preventing waste and plastic pollution from entering the Fraser River and subsequently, the ocean and marine ecosystem

Including this upcoming event, a series of nature stewardship events will take place in Richmond from summer through to fall, thanks to the City of Richmond with their generous support through Environment & Food Security Grant program
~
All cleanup supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring gum boots if you are working on the shoreline (not mandatory). Refreshments will be provided as well. We look forward to this stewardship event at the Fraser River!

On June 21st, Web Of Life Society teamed up with Captain Scott Legacy Society for a cleanup of an important salmon bearing stream and the surrounding riparian forest, funded by the City of Coquitlam - Municipality Neighborhood Small Grant graciously acquired by Brandon Tilt !

We pulled shopping carts from the creek, plastics, clothing, tarps, glass, board with nails, and a plethora of items that don't belong in a in a watershed. Between the 3 locations we cleaned that day in both the south and north parts of the creek, we likely hauled at least 200-300 pounds of trash, if not more!

Remember when we shared the exciting news that five CNIB Guide Dog puppies had been sponsored in honour of Captain Scott Legacy Society?

Well, we're so excited to introduce one of them: Captain!

Captain was born in April 2026 and joined the BC Puppy Development Program, where he spent his first months learning alongside his volunteer puppy raiser. He's now taken the next big step in his journey and is in Ontario, beginning his formal guide dog training with his harness on.

It's amazing to see how much he's grown already, and we can't wait to follow his journey as he works toward becoming a future guide dog and changing someone's life.

A huge thank you to the dedicated CNIB staff, trainers, and volunteer puppy raisers who make this life changing program possible. Your kindness, patience, and commitment are helping create more independence and confidence for people who are blind or have low vision.

Go Captain! We know you're going to do amazing things. 💙🐶

🌿 Giving back to nature, one plant at a time.

On June 27th, our Corporate Wave program teamed up with Creation Technologies and Wildscaping Our Neighbourhood Society (WONS) for a woodland restoration day in Burnaby’s Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood.

Led by WONS founder Prentice Lee, 12 volunteers spent the day removing invasive species and making space for native plants to thrive. From the Buttercup Brigade to the Ivy Eliminators, Blackberry Battalion, and Bamboo Crew, everyone came ready to get their hands dirty and make an impact.

Beyond the hard work, the day was about learning, connecting, and caring for the natural spaces we all share. One volunteer reflected that the work mattered because one day, his grandchildren might enjoy a park made healthier by the efforts of volunteers today.

A huge thank you to Creation Technologies for showing up with so much energy and enthusiasm, and to WONS for sharing your knowledge and passion for environmental stewardship.

Together, we’re building a stronger community and creating a greener future. 🌱

Captain Scott x .ca Stanley Park Cleanup on May 2nd! We teamed up with the amazing folks at Web of Life and the legendary Carl to clean up one of Vancouver's most beautiful places. From protecting wildlife to preserving the tallest tree in Stanley Park, every piece of litter we picked up made a difference. 💚 Huge thank you to every volunteer who showed up and gave their time. You are the reason this happens. Let's keep protecting the places we love! 🙌

Springtime came to The Salvation Army Southview and Terrace and we were so happy to be part of it 🌸 Captain Scott Legacy Society volunteered at bringing hand massages and gift kits courtesy of , bouquet making, puzzles and a photo booth that had everyone in the best mood. Being in that room with these incredible residents reminded us exactly why we do what we do. Thank you for having us! 💛
