An estimated 27% of Canadians live with one or more disabilities. Our country is stronger when every one of them can participate fully in all aspects of society.

This National AccessAbility Week, we're proud to stand behind this year's theme: "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada."

MOSAIC's Legal Advocacy Program helps make that real: supporting individuals in BC with applications for Person with Disabilities (PWD) benefits through the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

Teachers. Human rights defenders. Women who fought for girls' education. Community builders.

These are some of the Afghan families MOSAIC has been privileged to support. Many are in Pakistan right now, waiting for their Canadian applications to be processed, while facing the risk of detention and forced return.

MOSAIC is proud to stand alongside a national coalition calling to speed up applications, put protections in place and work with international partners to keep these families safe.
