British Columbia Mobility Opportunities Society (BCMOS) Hiking, paddling and other accessible recreational activities for people with disabilities in Britis

Since 1995, the centerpiece of BCMOS's programs has been the TrailRider, a specially designed wilderness access vehicle. With one wheel, and "sherpas" back and front, the TrailRider can tackle any terrain. It has twice summited Kilimanjaro, but also allowed countless fishing trips, school outings and family afternoons outdoors.

BCMOS is proud to be the charitable sponsor of the Standing Spirit project, a documentary that tells the remarkable story of our friend and peer, Brad Jacobsen.

More than 20 years ago, Brad, a quadriplegic, and a dedicated team of friends set out on an extraordinary adventure to conquer the West Coast Trail. Using a TrailRider for much of the journey and kayaking sections of the route, they overcame immense challenges through determination, teamwork, and an unwavering spirit.

Brad was a friend, mentor, and passionate advocate for life after spinal cord injury. He inspired countless people through his courage, leadership, and belief that anything is possible with the right support and mindset. He is deeply missed.

BCMOS was proud to support this film project when it began over two decades ago, and we are proud to support it today as it works toward completion. We hope you'll join us in helping bring this incredible story to audiences everywhere.

Donate through CanadaHelps:

All donations will receive an official charitable tax receipt.

Thank you for helping us honour Brad's legacy and share this inspiring story with the world.
