Music as resistance 🎶

We are excited to welcome back the The Solidarity Notes Choir as a performer at this year's Vancouver International Women's Day March!

Throughout history, struggles for human rights have produced music that inspires and reconnects us to hope and possibility. You can learn more about their work at SolidarityNotes.ca.

Gender equity and climate justice go hand-in-hand 🌎

We are excited to welcome Karen Larsen from
Sue Big Oil to our speaker lineup!

Karen Larsen is an environmentalist and volunteer with the Vancouver chapter of Sue Big Oil, a campaign that unites people concerned about the climate crisis and the growing impacts on B.C. communities. Sue Big Oil urges municipalities to pursue legal action compelling the world’s largest fossil fuel companies to pay their fair share of climate-related costs. Setting this precedent is vital to a global movement demanding accountability from major polluters for the damage they’ve caused to the planet and the risks communities now face, especially for women, girls, and gender diverse people who are most impacted by climate change.

Join us at the march to hear from Karen and join our call for gender equity and climate justice!

Reproductive care is essential ❤️

Introducing Syd Grischow who will be speaking at this year's Vancouver International Women's Day March!

Syd Grischow (she/her) is a graduate student in Sociology at the University of Victoria. Her work focuses on reproductive justice and abortion access, with particular attention to barriers to contraception and the challenges surrounding reproductive care. She is particularly interested in the structural and institutional conditions that continue to make abortion and contraception difficult to access.

In addition to her academic work, Syd is a licensed paramedic and is drawn to the intersections between sociology and medicine. As a q***r woman, her work is deeply personal, and she strives to use her positionality and lived experience to make research more accessible and meaningful to the communities it impacts.

We highly recommend giving these books a read if you haven’t already!

Totes are available in black or white, and 10% of proceeds will go towards the Vancouver Black Library. Pick up your tote at our booth on march day, along with some feminist stickers and buttons!
