The SLF collaborates with community based organizations in 15 African countries that help grandmothers who are raising children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

Welisa Gogos is a group of Vancouver volunteer grandmothers & 'grandothers' who raise funds and awareness for the Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation. Welisa Gogos is a volunteer group of Vancouver grandmothers and grand-others who belong to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. These organizations provide grandmothers with support such as food, sch

ool fees, income generating activities, counselling and home visits. What’s a Gogo? Gogo is a Zulu word meaning “grandmother”. Greater Van Gogos are grandmothers and ‘grandothers’ working in groups in support of African grandmothers raising a generation of children orphaned by AIDS. This network of grandmothers groups in south western BC is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, Stephen Lewis Foundation.
