Please join us for a Gala Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Stephen Lewis Foundation with the magnificent Solidarity Quilt on display!

Music! Crafts Market! Refreshments! Free. Everyone is welcome!

Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm with formal presentations at 2 pm.

Location: The Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver, BC.

Hundreds of grandmothers across Canada and sub-Saharan Africa created pieces that have been sewn together by over 300 grandmothers to tell the story of how women transform their communities. The finished quilt, Nurturing Generations Under the Canopy of Sisterhood, is a powerful symbol of solidarity and reminds everyone that with ongoing support, women, and older women in particular, play an important role in building a more equitable world. We received enough contributions from grandmothers across Canada and six countries in sub-Saharan Africa, that a second quilt was created from the additional material. The smaller quilt, No One Left Behind, will be on exhibit with the Solidarity Quilt.

These remarkable works of art are a testament to what is possible when women gather, connect, and share their resources, creativity, and compassion.
