📢Hey Vancouver Community 📢
Are you passionate about helping the local Vancouver community while also reducing environmental waste? Are you looking for a low-commitment volunteer opportunity with other students and young adults? The Uplift Canada Foundation is looking for 2 new volunteers to help run our BC Chapter.
About the role:
Title: BC Chapter Head
What you will be doing: support monthly pick up, sorting and drop off of clothing to local shelters and attend 1 monthly meeting
Time commitment: commitment is one weekend a month, Saturday/Sunday, a total of 6 hours
Requirements: driver’s license, ideally a car (not necessary but an asset), availability the last weekend of each month, able to fulfill role term from September through April
A bit about Uplift: Uplift Canada works closely with communities across the lower mainland of British Columbia to up-cycle gently used clothing and redistribute items to local shelters. As a registered non-profit organization, we strive to foster meaningful change by liaising directly with shelters to ensure the items we collect are the items they need. Together, we are combatting clothing waste by reducing the items that end up in the landfill, ensuring that gently used items are repurposed and those that can’t be, are properly recycled.
