🌹🙏 Our Lady of the Rosary | A Prayer for Peace 🙏🌹

October is a special month for the Rosary, and on October 7, we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Rosary is simple, yet deeply meaningful. As we pray the Hail Mary, we are invited to walk with Mary and reflect on the life of Jesus through the mysteries of the Rosary. 🌹

Life can get busy. We carry many things in our hearts: family, work, worries, hopes, and questions about the future.

We may not always have the answers, but we can pause, pray, and place what is on our hearts in God’s hands. Sometimes, that quiet moment is where we begin to find peace. 🕊️

At Ave Maria Garden, flowers are one of the ways we share love, hope, and joy. Every floral gathering gives us a chance to slow down, connect with one another, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. 🌿🌸

This October 7, why not take a few quiet minutes to pray a decade or a full Rosary?

Offer a prayer for your family, your friends, your community, or simply for peace in our world. 🙏

May Mary lead us closer to Jesus and help us keep a heart that is peaceful, grateful, and open to love. 💗

🌕🌸 Chasing the Moon | Learning Has No Age Limit 🌸🌕

Our “Chasing the Moon” floral workshop at Austin Harris was filled with enthusiasm, laughter, and plenty of curiosity! Everyone jumped right in, tried new floral techniques, and enjoyed the opportunity to create something beautiful together. 🥰

From choosing flowers and playing with different combinations to experimenting with new arranging techniques, every little challenge became an opportunity to learn and be creative.

And once again, we were reminded that age is never a barrier to learning. 🌱

As long as we keep a curious and open heart, there is always something new to discover, create, and enjoy.

Our volunteers believe this too. Every workshop is a learning experience for us as well. We continue to learn new skills, share ideas, and grow alongside the people we serve. There is something truly special about lifelong learning together. 💚

At Ave Maria Garden, floral arranging is about more than creating a beautiful arrangement. It is about bringing people together, sharing joy, trying something new, and discovering that we can continue to learn and grow at every stage of life.

May we always keep a curious heart, embrace new experiences, and continue sharing love and joy with those around us. 🙏🌸

🌕✨ Mid-Autumn Festival | Celebrating Culture, Community & Connection ✨🌸

The Mid-Autumn Festival is more than mooncakes and moon-gazing. It is a beautiful time to celebrate family, togetherness, gratitude, and the sharing of traditions. 🥮🌕

We were so happy to celebrate this special Chinese festival with our friends at Maples Ridge through a floral workshop.

For us at Ave Maria Garden, being able to share the meaning and traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival with people from different cultural backgrounds is something truly special. 💛

Through flowers, stories, and time spent together, we can learn more about one another and appreciate the beautiful diversity within our community. 🌿

May we continue to celebrate our different cultures with open hearts, learning from one another and building a community filled with friendship, kindness, and love.

🌕 May this Mid-Autumn season bring peace, joy, and love to every family.

🌿🕊️ The Passion of St. John the Baptist | Courage to Stand for Truth 🕊️🌿

August 29 marks the Memorial of the Passion of St. John the Baptist.

John the Baptist had a clear mission: to prepare the way for Christ and boldly proclaim the truth. Even when he faced pressure, danger, and ultimately the threat of death, he refused to remain silent.

Most of us may never face circumstances as difficult as John did, but we all encounter moments in everyday life when we have to choose how we will respond.

When someone around us needs support, are we willing to reach out?

When standing for what is right is difficult, are we willing to remain faithful?

When our faith calls us to put love into action, are we willing to take that next step? 🙏

St. John the Baptist reminds us that witnessing to our faith doesn’t always require many words.

Sometimes, a sincere heart, a kind action, or a willingness to serve someone is already a beautiful witness to Christ’s love. 💙

May we learn from John’s courage and remain faithful to God wherever He has placed us. May our lives become a path that leads others toward hope, love, and Christ.

🌿✨ The Assumption of Mary × The Queenship of Mary | Let Love Be Our “Yes” ✨🌿

On August 15, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, followed by the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary on August 22. 💙

Mary’s life was not easy simply because she was chosen by God. Rather, she continued to respond to Him with faith, one “yes” after another. From her humble “Let it be done to me according to your word,” to walking with Jesus through both joy and suffering, Mary remained faithful and trusted in God.

She reminds us that faith doesn’t always begin with something big. Sometimes, it begins with patience, a word of encouragement, or simply being willing to lend a helping hand. These little acts can become our own way of saying, “Yes, Lord, I’m here.” 🌸

At Ave Maria Garden, we hope that through flowers and acts of service, we can bring a little peace, a little joy, and a little more love into the lives of those around us.

May Mary, our Mother and our example, guide us each day to respond to God with faith, hope, and love, and to share that love with others. 🙏

Today's floral workshop in Chinatown was simply amazing. We can honestly say it was one of our best workshops ever. The conversations were lively, the demonstrations were engaging, everything flowed so naturally. and the entire session felt filled with joy and peace from beginning to end.

Today we explored the beautiful art of Ikebana once again. This time, we brought along our own little whiteboards to illustrate the three main stems, their ideal proportions, lengths, and angles. Together we learned how the flowers and foliage represent the three essential elements in every Ikebana arrangement: Heaven, Earth, and Humanity.

Our senior buddies were incredibly attentive and eager to learn every detail. The caregivers found the principles fascinating too, and everyone had such a wonderful time creating, taking quizs, encouraging one another, and sharing so many smiles.

A very special thank you to Anita, Jane, Linda, and Belinda for volunteering today. ❤️ Your support meant so much, making everyone feel included, comfortable, and engaged. Your companionship and teamwork made a real difference.
Moments like these remind us that floral design is never just about arranging flowers. It is about bringing people together, nurturing creativity, building confidence, and creating meaningful connections across generations and cultures.

Thank You, Lord, for guiding every step, blessing every conversation, and allowing us to share beauty, learning, and friendship with this wonderful community.
To God be all the glory. 💚🌸

🌿✨ Bridging Heaven, Earth & Humanity through Flowers ✨🌿

Today at Maples, we introduced our lovely buddies to Ikebana for the very first time — a sculptural floral art form built on three simple yet profound elements: Heaven, Earth, and Humanity.

As Christians, we work faithfully each day so that when our earthly journey ends, by God’s grace, we may enter Heaven and join the angels and saints. And while we are here on Earth, our calling is to be stewards — bridging Heaven and Earth, creating harmony through love, care, and beauty.

Ikebana carries this same spiritual heartbeat.

With just a few stems placed at intentional angles, each person created a triangular composition symbolizing Heaven above, Earth below, and Humanity connecting the two. Even though everyone used the same flowers, every arrangement became uniquely their own — a reflection of personal creativity, dignity, and story.

As we worked, the room shifted. The space filled with calmness, stillness, and peace. We slowed down.We appreciated every stem, every bloom, and gave each other space to enjoy beauty gently and quietly.

That is the power of flowers — they bring us back to nature, back to ourselves, and back to God.

🙏 A heartfelt thank‑you to our volunteers today — Angela, Doris, Jane, Selina and Teresa.Your hands, your patience, and your love made this workshop possible. Your contribution is felt deeply.

Imagine that you have just entered the throne room of heaven and are standing before the God of all creation. Take a moment to picture the scene. Try to sense the presence of the invisible God: the power, the purity, the love, the holiness, the glory. That Presence is everywhere and sees everything. It pierces your soul and lays bare every thought and inclination you’ve ever had, both good and bad.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be

“Here I am,” I said; “send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)
