We were also invited by “New Republic Report” to attend the book launch of “Blueprint: Reconstructing the KMT’s Era Initiative”, where we exchanged ideas with partners such as the “Military Style multimedia Studio” and many like-minded friends to continue shaping our vision for the future.

Though we live overseas, our hearts remain with the Republic — may the blue stay bright, the sun shine eternal, and the flag of the Republic of China forever fly high in the wind.

On this year’s Double Tenth Day, we returned from Canada to our hometown to join the National Day flag-raising ceremony at the “National Flag House” in Zhongli (忠貞新村文化園區 異域故事館 LOST ARMY story house) — our hearts filled with pride and emotion. Seeing the Blue Sky, White Sun, and Red Earth flag waving once again reminded us of the strength of our shared faith.

Commemorating the 36th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre
This year marks the 36th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, as well as the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II. Though these two events occurred under different circumstances, they both remind us of a profound truth: freedom and democracy are hard-won, and the cost of resisting tyranny is immeasurable.
As in previous years, the Chung Hua Min Kuo Chinese Youth Association .cya_vancouver was once again invited by the event organizer, the Vancouver Society in Support of Democratic Movement , to participate in the series of commemorative activities. On May 25th, during the Democracy March, our association sent a representative to speak on stage.
On June 4, 1989, countless students and young people gathered in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. With peace and reason, they called for freedom of speech and political reform. In response, they were met with brutal military suppression. Thousands lost their lives, and to this day, the truth remains shrouded in censorship. This tragedy stands as a stark denial of human rights and freedom.
Looking back to 1945, the end of World War II marked the collective triumph of the world’s nations over fascist tyranny. The Republic of China, as one of the Allied powers, paid a heavy price and made significant contributions to world peace. Eighty years later, we must all the more cherish the hard-earned fruits of democracy and continue to stand in solidarity with those across China who are courageously demanding their freedom.
We believe that history will eventually reveal the truth, and justice will prevail. Overseas Chinese patriots will never forget June Fourth, nor will we abandon our hope for a democratic China. We will continue to raise our voices, standing shoulder to shoulder with freedom-loving people around the world—to defend human rights, remember history, and light the path to a brighter future.

Today, Vancouver’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden held a memorial event for the Founding Father of the Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. We, the Chinese Youth Association, were specially invited by Danny Quon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden - Yiyuan, to attend today’s memorial event together with other overseas Chinese group representatives, leaders and guests.

The event was solemn with rainy weather. All the participants remembered the great achievements of the Founding Father Dr. Sun Yat-sen and expressed gratitude for the sacrifices and dedication of the revolutionary martyrs.

Honouring Dr. Sun Yat-Sen – Centennial Commemoration of Founding Father's Passing

One hundred years ago today, at 9:30 AM on March 12, 1925, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of Republic of China, passed away from liver cancer in Peking.
Dr. Sun was born in kuangtung and, in his youth, went to Hawaii and Hong Kong for his studies. On November 24, 1894, he founded the Revive China Society in Honolulu, dedicating himself to the revolutionary cause for China's freedom and equality.
On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising succeeded in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty, ending over 2,000 years of autocracy in China and establishing Asia's first democratic republic— the Republic of China.
Due to warlords and imperialism, China faced internal and external crises. Dr. Sun continued to promote the Second Revolution, the Constitutional Protection Movement, and the First United Front, aiming to complete the Nationalist Revolution and achieve freedom and equality for China.

Looking at Dr. Sun's life as a whole, we can see a man of unwavering will. His talents and character may not have been perfect, his family background and social status were not extraordinary, and the human and financial resources for the revolution were insufficient, not to mention his lack of military talent and skills. However, despite countless hardships and obstacles, Dr. Sun remained dedicated to the national revolution. As Mencius said, "Though tens of thousands oppose, I will proceed," which is the best interpretation of Dr. Sun's spirit.

Recently, Vancouver's Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park hosted a commemorative exhibition to honor the founding father. Friends in Vancouver should visit if they have time!

Commemorating, pay tribute, reflect.

On this solemn day today, we, the Chinese Youth Association, observe a moment of silence, lay flowers, commemorate history with actions, pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country, and reflect on the hard-won peace.

This day also allows us to look back on the many wars that the Republic of China and Canada have experienced together, especially the cooperation during World War I, World War II and the Korean War.

During World War I, ROC declared war on Germany in 1917 and sent more than 100,000 Chinese workers (Chinese Labour Corps) to Europe to support the Triple Entente, which was crucial to the victory of World War I.At that time, Canada, as a British Dominion, sent more than 600,000 soldiers to participate in the battle and played a key role in important battles such as the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

During World War II, the Republic of China and Canada jointly fought against the fascist regime. Especially in the Hong Kong Defense War in 1941, Canada sacrificed its top military officer during World War II, Brigadier John K. Lawson MC ; while Admiral Andrew Chan Chak KBE, the representative of the Nationalist Government in Hong Kong, also provided intelligence support British Army in the Hong Kong Defense War.

During the Korean War, Canada, as a member of the United Nations, also sent troops to participate in the Korean War; based on the concept of limited war, the Republic of China mainly supported the Korean War with logistics and support.

Paying tribute to Canadian military personnel is also a tribute to all those who have fought for peace and justice. No matter what predicament our motherland is in, the pursuit of freedom and human dignity will always be an unchanging belief; whether it is the Republic of China or Canada, the concepts of peace and democracy will always be our common mission.

Today, standing in front of the cenotaph in victory square,

Commemorate the profound connection between the histories of the two countries,

We pay tribute to the military personnel of both countries for their sacrifice and dedication for freedom and democracy,

Reflect on the hard-won peace.
