Members! What a year it has been. We have seen some incredible engagement and advocacy amongst our members in a wide range of opportunities this year. From phone banking for the levy this fall, to food distribution support this winter, as well as the continued members showing up for advocacy days at the capital, building meetings, and member engagement opportunities throughout the year, you all constantly remind us of the power of people doing the good work.

Therefore, it seems fitting to announce a new service award on behalf of the Shakopee Education Association to honor such service amongst our members.

The Spirit of Service Award is an opportunity to nominate a fellow member who embodies the Organizational Values of the Shakopee Education Association through their service, volunteerism, and community involvement. If you know an incredible member who shows up for their colleagues, encourages union engagement, and/or is an incredible advocate for teachers, consider nominating them today.

Nominations can be given by any SEA member to any current SEA member.
Nominations are open from April 20th until May 15th, 2026.
The award recipient will be announced at the General Membership Meeting in August.
