Valemount Climbing Club The Valemount Climbing Club is a non-profit Society located in Valemount BC. Our first project is the construction of an indoor bouldering gym.

Our MISSION is to promote the sport of rock climbing and create community spaces where we can climb. Our first project will be the creation of an indoor space for bouldering. Bouldering is just one style of rock climbing. It is defined by short routes that are climbed over protective crash mats without a rope. Bouldering is the training ground of the sport cultivating energy, strength, and determination that will get you to the top! Valemount is surrounded by three mountain ranges: the Rockies, Monashees, and Cariboos. There are so many peaks and valleys to explore that there is no shortage of opportunities for mountain adventures. Our VISION is to foster a community of climbers that are excited to explore the indoor and outdoor aspects of this sport. We are so excited about the possibilities that an indoor bouldering gym could bring to our town. This space will be an excellent compliment to all of the other outdoor sports Valemount has to offer and will create a year-round activity for locals of all ages and abilities to enjoy. Valemount is located on the unceded ancestral territories of the Simpcw and Lheidli T’enneh First Nations. Today we are seeing a diversity of new residents and visitors exploring this beautiful area. We VALUE diversity and inclusion which is an ethos that will guide our work and projects. We look forward to introducing all members of our community to the sport of climbing. We are especially thrilled to see our younger generations reach new heights!
