Africycle Canada is looking for volunteers to help tackle the two day bike packing event we have coming up this weekend. If you are a student looking for volunteer hours or a community-minded individual willing to lend a hand either day, we would appreciate the help. The packing will begin on Saturday, August 29, at 10 AM and run until approximately 1 PM. Sunday, August 30, at approximately 11 AM the packing will continue after we receive a large delivery of bikes from Thunder Bay that will be included in this Uxbridge shipment destined for Malawi. Any help is appreciated - We hope to see you there!
The Africycle containers are located at 14 Victoria Street North, across from The Second Wedge Brewery.

We Need Volunteers!

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us reach our goal! Now it’s time to get these bikes ready to ship to Africa. 🌍

We need volunteers to help us load the container this weekend:

📅 Saturday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📅 Sunday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

📍 Come out, lend a hand, and help us get these bikes on their way to the people who need them!

No experience needed just bring yourself and a willingness to help!

We’re only 100 bikes away from reaching our goal.

In many communities in Africa, people have to walk long distances to get to school, work, markets, and healthcare. A bike can make those trips faster and easier, helping people get to where they need to go and giving them more opportunities.

If you have a bike you no longer use, please consider donating it. Your old bike could make a huge difference to someone who truly needs it.

Africycle Is Ready For You This Summer! 

Many people in Uxbridge already know Africycle and the work it has been doing within our community for years. This summer, we’re excited to reconnect with everyone, share the impact of your support and participate in several upcoming local events!

We have the following upcoming events planned, and we need volunteers from our community to help make them possible!  

Location: Africycle containers across from the Second Wedge, Uxbridge.

📍Break down day #1, August 1st, 9am - 2pm
📍Bake Sale, August 16th, 9am - 3pm 
📍Breakdown day #2, August 28th, 9am - 2pm

If you are interested in joining us, please send us a message/contact us at 289-264- 3919.

Africycle collects donated bicycles from our community, repairs and prepares them with the help of volunteers, and ships them to communities in Africa. These bikes provide reliable transportation and help improve access to education, employment, healthcare and other essential opportunities.

Together, we’re not simply giving bicycles a second life , we’re using bicycles to help change lives. 
We are currently accepting new and used bicycle donations at our location in Uxbridge!

If you have a bike sitting unused in your garage or shed, consider donating it to Africycle. Bikes in need of some repair may also be accepted. Every donated bicycle has the potential to provide someone with greater independence, mobility and opportunity.

Looking for volunteer hours?
Africycle offers opportunities for local youth to earn community volunteer hours while developing practical skills, working with others and supporting a meaningful cause. No previous bicycle-repair experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and help!
