Many new beginnings happening here as cats and kittens leave our family to join families of their own.

This precious little lass also joined her forever family, where both humans and a new feline friend were there to welcome her. As you can see, Daisy has already settled in marvellously ❣️

Happiest of new beginnings Daisy ❤️

Tater Update 🙏

We are thrilled to share that Tater continues to make a heartwarming recovery. Today his blood work panel looked fabulous!

From foster mom Carrie:

Tater’s kidney function is now almost normal, his anemia almost fully resolved, his albumin globulin ratio increasing from 0.3 to 0.6.

Tater's 84 days of treatment ends on July 18th at which time his blood work will again be rechecked.

Provided everything is good, Tater will require a full dental, the last step of his healing process ❤️‍🩹

At 12 weeks young, Forrest and Juniper are looking for their forever family.

These sweet siblings are social with an abundance of playful kittenish energy. After play time is finished, they are happy to come in for a cuddle, either with a human companion or with each other.

Juniper and Forrest are spay/neutered, age appropriately vaccinated and microchipped.
They are currently in foster in Brooklin where meet n greets can be arranged on approved applications.

Valencia joined our family last summer, along with her two kittens. She had been seen in the community of Sandford for a couple of years.

After being successfully socialized, Valencia’s kittens went on to find a family of their own. Since then, Valencia remained in our family, in the care of foster mom Trish where, with patience and understanding, she slowly gained confidence and blossomed.

Yesterday foster mom Trish made it official as Valencia went from foster to forever family.

These are the sweetest of ‘forevers’. From surviving on her own to a life time of cozy beds and care, Valencia now has a family to call her own, including a feline family who she equally adores.

Happiest of new beginnings Valencia. We are so proud of you and so very happy for you 😻

Emmia (formerly Lida) and Skittles (formerly Uravatiy) have found their forever family … TOGETHER. As you can see from the pics, they have settled in marvellously.

From their human mom …

“Emmia and Skittles are both doing well. Eating, playing and using the litter box. They initially were sticking to their room but we allowed exploring on their terms.

We got Skittles purring loudly. They are so cute together.

I was home with them today and when I would check on them they would instantly purr, a sound I have missed since we said goodbye to our last cat in October.

I swear, it was as if you personally knew my girls. Emmia is perfect for Selina and Skittles is the perfect energy for Lara. So thankful!”

Happiest of new beginnings Skittles and Emmia. We see you enjoying a lifetime of cuddles and cozy beds with a family who adores you ❤️

Please join us in welcoming another 7 additions to the BCC family.

One sweet momma and six littles arrived today through our partners at Marley's Pet Rescue . These kitties are part of the family who were rescued and joined our family last weekend (another mom and 6 kittens). Mom and babes are now in the loving care of foster mom Kim, where they will get loads of TLC.

On a personal note, on behalf of our entire BCC team, we want to express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone who donated towards our critical care fund yesterday and today. Czar’s vetting costs have been fully covered by your generous donations💜

We also wish to express our thanks to everyone who has so generously donated cat and kitten food. I had the pleasure of receiving Amazon orders today, with more donations enroute.

Over the past week, 29 cats and kittens (2 nursing moms of 12 kittens, 7 bottle babies, 2 juniors and 6 adults) have joined our family.

Helping so many is only possible through the dedication of our amazing FOSTER TEAM, always willing to open their hearts and homes AND the incredible generosity of YOU, our rescue community. So from each of us, to each of you, THANK YOU❣️

Welcome to the family sweethearts😻

We just wanted to update everyone on the kitty who was secured last evening at our Sunderland colony.

Czar, named for his strength and determination, saw Dr Beshay and his team at the Animal Clinic of East Durham this morning where the remaining stub of what was his tail was amputated. Czar was also neutered and vaccinated during his surgical procedure.

We have absolutely no idea how this injury occurred and are well beyond the point of speculating. We are just thankful that Leah, our compassionate colony caregiver, was able to secure him so that he received the urgent medical attention he needed.

Dr Beshay is always forthcoming with potential long term effects of a traumatic injury such as degloving. There is of course the possibility of infection, nerve damage and incontinence so Czar will be closely monitored in the care of foster mom Carrie, where he is in kind and knowledgeable hands. He is, of course, receiving pain meds to keep him comfortable and antibiotics to treat potential infection.

For those asking, today’s surgery was approximately $800. Our sincerest gratitude to those who have already donated towards the cost of Czar’s medical care. Our medical costs have been and continue to be challenging. Almost 100% of the monies ($5012) raised from our auction was immediately used towards the cost and care of our most vulnerable, with the remainder going to food and supply costs.

Speaking of vulnerable, our foster team has advised that with many hungry “wee” tummies to feed, we are quickly depleting our kitten food supply. We are again down to 1 bag of KMR and are running extremely low on RC mom and baby cat, both wet and dry. (We have recently purchased a large amount of Pro Plan kitten wet).

Please continue to keep Czar and all of our cats and kittens in your thoughts and prayers. All are deserving of new beginnings ❤️
