💬 You spoke. We listened. Now we’re coming back to you.

In Spring 2025, volunteers and staff shared what they wanted to see from Scouts Canada’s approach to volunteer performance management. That feedback, operational experience, and trends, has helped shape a proposed new framework. Now, we want your perspective on what comes next.

Join us for Round 2 of the Volunteer Performance Management Consultation to learn about the proposed changes, including four new pathways for addressing volunteer support, conflict, role suitability and conduct concerns.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you:
💚 What’s working?
💬 What concerns you?
⚖️ Have we found the right balance between volunteer support, local responsibility, fairness and accountability?

Scouts Day at the CNE & Toronto FC — What a Night!

What an incredible way to kick off the new school year! Yesterday, 250 of our Scouting community came together for an unforgettable Scouts Day at the CNE and BMO Field to cheer on Toronto FC.

And what a game we witnessed! 🔥⚽️

Toronto FC 4 – 4 Chicago Fire FC — an absolute 8-goal thriller! Toronto’s Josh Sargent put on a spectacular performance with a hat trick, while Derrick Etienne Jr. scored a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer to secure the draw.

It was also a special treat to see former FC Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski play right here in Toronto — although, unfortunately, he was wearing the Chicago Fire colours! 😄 He added a goal of his own to the incredible night.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to see so many Scouts and their families enjoying the CNE, spending time together, and experiencing a fantastic night of Major League Soccer.

A huge thank you to the Greater Toronto Council Council Commissioner Scouter Ashfaque Nalim and the entire GTC Council Team for organizing such a memorable event.

It is our sincere pleasure to announce the appointment of Avan Aga to a full term as Greater Toronto Council Commissioner, effective November First, 2026.

Avan’s Scouting journey began eight years ago when her youngest son joined Scouts, inspiring both Avan and her husband to become volunteer leaders. Since then, she has served as a Cub Leader,
Contact Cub Leader, and Group Commissioner, witnessing firsthand how Scouting empowers young people through adventure, leadership, STEM, outdoor experiences, and community service.

With a professional background in healthcare management, Avan brings a collaborative and strategic approach to supporting volunteers and strengthening Scouting across Greater Toronto
Council. She extends her sincere thanks to Scouter Ash for his dedication and leadership and looks forward to working with the Scouting community to continue creating meaningful opportunities for youth.

Thank you to outgoing CC Ash Nalim for his incredible work and years of service.

Please join us in congratulating Avan on the achievement of her appointment.
