Advocates say the wording of the census question risks muddying the waters by emphasizing childhood religious and cultural background, potentially overstating how many Canadians are actually following religious doctrine and practices today.

Check the No Religion box on the census if you don't believe in Gods. Reflect your critical thinking, ethical beliefs instead of previous religious belief.

A big thank you to Mayor Ken Sim and the City of Vancouver for proclaiming tomorrow, April 15, as Religious Neutrality Day.

We recognize this day as the anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada's ruling that prayers at municipal council meetings are unconstitutional.

This year, we're reflecting on how "neutrality" is being weaponized to silence 2SLGBTQ+ voices and to suppress diversity by homogenizing the public sphere. These attacks remind us to stay vigilant for an inclusive, secular democracy.
