Potential Registration and Payment Scam - do NOT send further payments

Dear Coaches & Team Managers,

PCAHA has alerted us to a phishing scheme that we wanted to share with you. It is important that you know that the Remembrance Day Tournament WILL NOT be requesting any further funds from any participating teams.

Over the past week, organizations have received numerous emails soliciting registrations and payments for upcoming minor hockey tournaments. The emails look real and include:

-Legitimate Details: The dates, locations, and tournament details line up perfectly with actual upcoming events listed online.
-Real Forms: The registration links point to legitimate, functioning Google Forms.
-Generic Contact: The sender is orchestrating all of this through a generic Gmail address rather than an official, domain-specific association email.

If you receive an email informing you of a spot in the tournament and/or requesting registration fees, please DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY. Instead please email us at [email protected] to confirm if the email is in fact legitimate.

Regards,
Burnaby Wildcats Remembrance Day Tournament Committee

On the National Day of , we remember and honour the survivors of residential schools, their families and those children that never came home.

Today we recognize and reflect on the history of Indigenous communities and their loss of culture and freedoms. As a female hockey community, commit to listen, learn and be inclusive for Indigenous voices on and off the ice.

Thank you to guest coaches, Jenn Gardiner of the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Monday, and Tova Henderson of the Minnesota Frost, and ex-Goldeneye Malia Schneider today. Special Thanks to Empower Hockey and Melanie Jue for making this all happen. Go Wildcats!
