The book follows young poetry lover Batter Gray, who gets a job at a prestigious – albeit dysfunctional – New York literary journal, and must navigate eccentric staff, a bitter feud between twin editors, and life’s dualities.

Bonnie will be joined in conversation by Johanna Schneller (The Globe & Mail).

We are proud to be sharing Indigenous voices from Canada and around the world this fall in the Festival of Indigenous Stories, running October 28-November 1.

Ready to start reading? Our friends at Another Story Bookshop will be donating all proceeds from today's sales on in-stock items (in person and online) to local Indigenous organizations, Call Auntie Clinic and Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre.

Swipe to see the upcoming events at this year's Festival of Indigenous Stories.

Produced in partnership with Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the programme brings together nine Indigenous authors and artists from Canada and Australia for a slate of conversations and new commissions exploring Indigenous yearning and futurity.

Co-curated by award-winning Goorie and Koori poet Evelyn Araluen (The Rot; Dropbear), and bestselling author of Bad Cree, Jessica Johns, of Sucker Creek First Nation, the programme features Alicia Elliot, Bebe Oliver, Jasmin McGaughey, Quill Christie-Peters, Nardi Simpson, Kirli Saunders, and Jesse Wente.

Also joining us at the Festival are Métis writer Tara Gereaux, and Amanda Peters of Mi’kmaq and settler ancestry and a member of Glooscap First Nation.
