On 30th September, 2026, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we hosted our first Employment Networking Event in collaboration with MentorAbility Saskatchewan HUB. The day began with smudging and an acknowledgement of the significance of the day.
We brought employers, job seekers, and community partners together to focus on connection, confidence building, and creating more inclusive pathways to employment.
With so many meaningful conversations taking place throughout the event, it was a great opportunity to share experiences, build relationships, and challenge some of the barriers that can exist between employers and job seekers.
Participants explored their skills, strengths, and aspirations through a vision board activity, connected through conversation-starter icebreakers and networking bingo, and took part in a panel discussion and audience conversation on accessible employment.
Accessible employment starts with creating spaces where people can talk, listen, and learn.
