It’s with a hopeful and optimistic outlook that I’m announcing the end of the Frog Radio. I really try to look at the positives in life so this isn’t heavy. It’s actually lifting a weight and allowing me to focus more on my other goals.
My work with Tears to Hope Society is bringing me into a direction I never thought my life would go: INDIGENOUS YOUTH! I’ve been working with our youth a lot in the last year and keep being offered opportunities to guide them. So it’s clear Creator is sending me in that direction. The need is there.
I started the Frog Radio 5 years ago during a time when musicians couldn’t tour. I wanted to uplift Indigenous artists and show others how much talent there is in the Indigenous music world. I know I’ve opened a lot of peoples ears and introduced people to some incredible Indigenous music. Through my planning of youth conferences and events, I’ll continue to support Indigenous musicians. In these continually crazy times, we need music in our lives.
From the beginning of the Frog, I curated the music, programmed, designed the logo, created the website and everything in between. I’ve had such an amazing experience meeting many of the artists that I’ve come to know and love. I’ve had opportunities to support awards programs and promote music festivals. All of which have given me more tools and contacts to use in my work moving forward.
Thank you to the fans who faithfully listened every day. To the sponsors who helped “keep the lights on.” And most of all, thank you to the musicians for consistently sending in your new music! Keep creating. Your song is needed by someone.
Remember, we are teachers. We are drummers. We are singers. We are guitarists. We are activists. We are warriors. WE ARE STILL HERE!
Sending love and hope to you all
