The Disaster Animal Response Team of Nova Scotia We are a volunteer, charitable organization, working in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, to set up and run emergency shelters.

We are a volunteer, charitable organization, working in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, to set up and run emergency shelters and reception centres for animals affected by man made and natural disasters. We partner and work with other like minded organizations to insure animal needs are met during emergencies. We also have the ability to work in animal seizure shelters under the direction of the local responding animal shelter's Incident Commander .

What if you are not home and an emergency happens? Why not be prepared with one of our ICE (In Case of Emergency) Door Decals. This will let first responders know that you have animals inside the house. It is understood that human life always comes first, but as we have witnessed many times over our first responders have put themselves in harm’s way to help many family pets. A huge thank you to them for that!! They will be available at the Annapolis Valley Pet Expo today for only $ 2.00 each.
