Period poverty isn't rare, it's a struggle many people in our community quietly deal with. People miss school, work, and make tough choices because they can't afford products most of us take for granted.

You can help change that. Donate unopened menstrual products throughout May at these locations:

Last week, Julie Stone, a first-year Social Services student at NSCC Truro campus hosted a trivia night at The Commune, with all proceeds going to the United Way.

We had the pleasure of connecting with Julie after she chose United Way as the focus of her service-learning project and we're thankful we did. She brought real creativity and vision in bringing this event to life, successfully raising over $500 as a result!

Thank you Julie for organising such a fun night, and thank you to everyone who came out to support it!

Nobody should feel embarrassed for needing a menstrual product. And yet many people with periods still face stigma or even bullying just for asking.

Silence and shame don't fix period poverty. Talking about it does. Donating does. Because when products are freely available, no one has to ask.

This Menstrual May, let's make it a little easier for someone in our community.

Donate unopened menstrual products at your nearest drop-off location or organize your own drive at your workplace!
