With the MFMR Convention and Show under our belt we would like to show our great appreciation and gratitude to all of those who contributed in any form large and small.
The weekend long event went off without a hitch. Of course there were a few bumps in the road, but nothing catastrophic.
While being the president of the TMRA, this was my first time planning the MFMR convention. I could not have done it alone, for sure! Thank you shout outs go to; the TMRA that assisted in planning and getting things done, the Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders, for those who helped with all items that I could have never had an idea or time to prepare for in time for the convention, Andrew Reid a huge knowledge base to draw upon for planning and ideas, Will Lawrence for coordinating the awesome clinics, Ronald Grandmaison for volunteering to do a clinic and the Keynote, Again Andrew and his team for procuring all the wonderful prizes, Brady Rhodenizer and his team for planning and running the contests, and I am sure I am missing many others, just know your contributions helped and mattered. Thank you.
More huge thank you's go to Nancy Haynes and the Don Henderson Memorial Sportsplex for allowing us to host the event at your great venue. Julie Walters and her team for catering the banquet, excellent food and well executed, Tracy Higgins from the Barnyard Grill in managing the canteen, the coffee and fries were enjoyed by many, also the Hampton Inn for giving us a great rate for those who used it, Tony and Marwood for the industry tour. Thank you all.
Thank you all who opened your homes for delegates to visit and see your private layouts.
Thank you's are never enough when it comes to the donors who sponsor services to the convention or contribute to the prizes with their products. We all know times can be tough, and we sure do greatly appreciate any help on anything you do with services or prize donations. Thank you so much.
All of the vendors, exhibitors, and clubs that manage to find their way to Brookfield, we thank you too. I know it was a bit chilly at times but we kept busy to help keep us warm. Thank you all!
Normally the public is the last to be thanked, but in this case they are second to last. We do thank and appreciate the public who pay attention the door and attend the public show. Without you this event would not be worth doing. Yes, thank you so much for attending our public shows.
Lastly, thank you to all the Delegates who registered. This convention is intended for YOU. I thank you all for participating in the 2025 MFMR Convention. All of the planning, organizing an preparation is for you to have the best time possible. Hotels, venues, clinics, vendors, clubs, exhibitors, contests, banquets and tours all make it memorable for you.
I know this was long winded, but I mean every word. Thank you.
If you have an opportunity to register for a future convention, I encourage you to do so. Participate in as many events as possible and enjoy the work others have done for your entertainment.
Thank you MFMR for having the TMRA host the 2025 Convention. See you in October.
