Our 9th year was quite a Rollercoaster ride of emotions but in the end the RECC had power and the only part of the day that was cancelled was the skating...which was disappointing but we didn't let it take away from the magic we were determined to provide.
A big thank you to the lifeguards, the rock wall staff and the Rath East Link Community Centre as a whole for giving us their space and resources each year- we couldn't provide the type of experience without the facility and all it offers.
Thank you to Cheryl Fitzgerald for the countless shopping outtings and all the last minute request for the extra basket families we collected, and thank you for running the breakfast portion of the day so smoothly.
Thanks to Sheila Denier for all the little tasks you tackle each year that add up to a huge help. Thank you to those last minute wrappers that called in reinforcements to ensure we didn't have to do it all ourselves.
Thank you to those that helped unload the items and organize the rooms.
Thank you to Norman and his mom Louise who kept things smooth behind the scenes.
Thank you to the Schools Plus teams for the crafts, obstacle course and expertise with the kids.
Thank you to all the teachers, admin staff and principals that joined us on and off throughout the day.
Thank you to the fire fighters for taking orders like champs.
Thanks to all the First Responders and to Cam for the K9 demo...Scott is still recovering and the kids are likely still laughing.
Thank you to the swim team girls for your help in the pool, to the hockey teams and skaters that were enroute when we found out the rink was closing.
Thank you to Heidi, Brenna, Anita, Kate, Jody, and Mary, Charly, Stacey, Chantal, Alyson, Ryan who stay all day and give it all they've got.
Thank you to all the new volunteers we met this year who will hopefully make us a part of their holiday tradition for years to come.
Thank you to the parents who now bring their older children to volunteer together as families. What a sweet thing to share together.
Thank you to those repeat people like Michael, and Craig, Jenna, Miles, Darcy, and Carly that make it their annual tradition to come in for certain parts of the day to offer extra hands on deck.
Thank you to everyone that I didnt specifically name here for understanding my brain is now offline and this was as far as I could stretch my recall
Thank you to everyone that has allowed us to take a little idea and grow it into something we never could have dreamed of. We take this responsibility seriously, we will keep putting in the work to make it happen...but we truly cant do it alone. It takes a village. We are happy you're all part of ours.
