🐔✨ POULTRY DEMO DAY REGISTRATION CLOSES TODAY! ✨🐔

If your poultry member has been wanting to enter the Coop to Crown Show but keeps thinking, “we have no idea what we’re doing…” this day is EXACTLY why we created this.

Last year, lots of members showed with collars and leashes simply because nobody had ever taught them differently - and that is NOTHING to be embarrassed about. Every single poultry family starts somewhere. This demo day is a chance to learn, ask questions, practice, and build confidence before show day arrives.

This is a completely hands-on learning experience where the kids actually get to practice handling birds, learning proper showmanship, washing techniques, what judges are looking for, and what to expect in the ring. We provide the birds - kids just need to come ready to learn and have fun! 🐓🥚

Even better, our show judge, Raymond Dunlop, will be there teaching the demos and answering questions throughout the day. This is an incredible opportunity for members to learn directly from the person judging the show! No question is too small.

One of the best parts? The kids get to meet the other poultry members before the show, so when June 30 rolls around, it already feels familiar instead of intimidating.

Plus… lunch is provided. 😄🍴

This event is open to 4-H members only.

Registration closes TODAY so we can plan supplies and food numbers. If you’ve been on the fence, this is your sign to jump in and give it a try. We promise this group is all about learning, encouraging each other, and having a great time while doing it.

🐔🥚 REMINDER — ENTRIES FOR COOP TO CROWN ARE DUE TODAY! 👑🐓

If your 4-H poultry member has been thinking about entering… this is your sign to JUST DO IT. 😄

This is our very first Coop to Crown Poultry Show and we are building this day to be FUN, welcoming, educational, and full of great memories for poultry kids across Saskatchewan. Whether your member wants to try showmanship, enter a chicken, compete in the 3 egg class, or get creative with decorated eggs… there truly is something for everyone!

There will be prizes, lots of learning, and a chance to meet other poultry families who “get” the excitement of chickens, feathers, eggs, and show day chaos. 🐥💚

You do NOT need to have everything perfect to come join in. This is a learning atmosphere first and foremost, and we cannot wait to see these kids grow confidence while having a blast doing it.

Don’t hesitate and miss out - get those entries in today! 🐔🏆

🐔💚 The Brokenshell Multiple 4-H Club Poultry Project members are excited to be helping at the Saskatchewan Bird & Small Animal Sale this Sunday in Weyburn!

This year, our poultry members are working hard to bring something NEW to our area - a youth chicken show happening June 30, 2026 at the Weyburn Fair Grounds 🐓🎉

To help support the kids, their poultry projects, and the show expenses, we’ll be running a fun Chicken P**p Bingo fundraiser during the sale 😅

ALL proceeds raised will go directly back to:
🐥 our 4-H poultry members
🐥 youth learning opportunities
🐥 supplies & setup for the June 30 chicken show
🐥 growing the poultry community in southeast Saskatchewan

Come visit our table, support some amazing local youth, and cheer on Dolly Part-Hen as she clocks in for work at 1pm sharp 💩😂

We can’t wait to see everyone there and truly appreciate the support for our 4-H members 💚

Okay we are so excited for this 🐔

If you’ve got a poultry project this year … you need to come to this. This is the kind of day that takes all the guesswork out of show prep.

We’ve got Raymond Dunlop coming in and he’s going to walk through everything - how to properly wash birds (without the chaos 😅), how to handle them, what judges are actually looking for, and what a show day really looks like.

👉 AND you don’t need to bring a thing.
We’ll have birds there to work with, so you can just show up and learn.

🐔🎉 COOP TO CROWN POULTRY SHOW IS HAPPENING!! 🎉🐔

You guys… we are bringing chickens to the spotlight this summer and it’s going to be GOOD.

Whether you’ve got a barnyard mix you’re proud of, a purebred you’ve been working with all year, or kids who just want to get in the ring and try showmanship — this is your chance to get involved, learn a ton, and have some fun doing it.

📅 June 30th | 9:30 AM
📍 Weyburn Fair Grounds – McFadden Building
🐓 Chickens only this year (we’re starting strong and keeping it simple!)

We’ve got:
✔ Showmanship (no fee 🙌)
✔ Egg classes + decorated egg class
✔ Learning opportunities + hands-on experience
✔ A full day of cheering kids on and celebrating all their hard work

Coop in: June 29 (7–9 PM) or June 30 (7–9 AM)

Entry deadline: June 1 — don’t wait on this one!

This is our first year running this show, so we’re all about keeping it FUN, welcoming, and a great learning experience for everyone involved. Whether it’s your first show or your fifth, you belong here.

We can’t wait to see everyone this evening. Come celebrate 4-H in your community. These members have prepared a delicious meal along with items for the silent auction.

We have a special treat for you tonight; our speaker who is attending the provincial 4-H speaking contest in Humboldt at the end of April will share his winning speech with you.

We can’t wait to see everyone at our annual 4-H Supper and Fundraiser. Be sure to bring loonies for our fun loonie draws. (Loonies will be available on site too in case you forget). A delicious meal, an opportunity to meet our fabulous youth as they serve their community and show off their skills. Come learn what the youth are up to this year including our poultry show at the fair. Brokenshell is 21 4-H members strong.
