The Trenton Lions held their annual awards dinner on Wednesday evening. President Terry Graham presented several awards to deserving members. Lion Karin Newman received "Lion of the Year" while Lion Larry Austin was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellow. Lion Dave Mckellar recieved the Harry A. Newman award for his work with diabetes and Lion Robert Vandebelt was presented with the Helen Keller award.

Athletes and Volunteers from Belleville Quinte West Special Olympics held their end of winter sports BBQ at the Trenton Lions Hall on Sunday May 30th. Awards were given out by their organization and the athletes also received sports equipment bags presented by Lion Bob Clement on behalf of our club and the clubs of District A3 Lions. A job well done to all the Athlete's and volunteers for their great winter sports program.

Trenton Lions are part of the Lions Clubs International Eyeglass Recycling program which provides recycled eyewear free of charge to people in developing countries. Today our Trenton Lions processed 2,399 pairs of glasses that we collected for shipment to the eyeglass recycling center in Calgary. Thanks to our organizer Lion Nancy and her team of volunteers for a job well done.
