Good afternoon folks

Just a reminder for anyone who uses our garbage pick up service that we will not be taking yard waste to the transfer station. If it is put out on Saturday morning it will be left behind as picking up everyone's yard waste would almost double the amount we have to haul out and adds a bunch of labour into sorting at the transfer station. Our volunteers already spend their time every Saturday morning to do this.

Second thing. Please DO NOT use our trailer as a dumpster. Having garbage sit in it for a week attracts wildlife which open it up and spread it out which isn't fair to the coop who graciously allows us to park the trailer there

Last thing, please utilize our recycling program. We ask that each residence only put out two bags a week. We find many bags every week that feel and sound like recycling. This causes a bigger issue for the staff at the transfer station as they are told to separate recycling when possible adding lots of extra labour.

The walking trail is freshly groomed for your walking pleasure. Reminder, please no motorized vehicles on the trail and please clean up after your pets

With the warm weather in the future this will probably be the last time the groomer goes out this season. We hope you enjoyed the trail and look forward to next winter when we will do it again

IT'S TIME!

In our last post we hinted at something big that will be coming soon and it is finally time to announce it!

The Treherne Kinsmen Club is proud to present to you our 60/40 raffle to celebrate our 60th anniversary (61 but who's counting). Now what is a 60/40 raffle you ask? Well it's a 50/50 raffle with a little tweak. To celebrate our anniversary, 60% of the raffle will go to the Treherne Kinsmen Club to be donated back into the community and 40% will go to one lucky winner!

So click on the link below (yes it's a safe link, we worked with Rafflebox for this project) and get yourself some tickets. Also please like and share this post to help your friends and family get in on this great opportunity for a chance to take home 40% of the funds raised.

Ticket sales will end on March 2nd 2026 with the draw being made on March 5th 2026 at 9pm local time. We will do our best to go live on Facebook when we do the draw and the winner will be notified right after.

Now that the dust has settled and the numbers have been crunched we would like to put out a thank you to everyone that attended and supported our mini Sal's Saloon. A great time was had by those in attendance and we raised $1110 with the jail which will be donated to the Treherne Minor Athletic for the rink boards project. We will have another post coming shortly regarding this donation as we may just pump it up a bit.

A big thanks to Brent and Janice for the great entertainment and all of those that stepped up to help us, it was greatly appreciated.

Friendly reminder Kinsmen Garbage pickup starts @ 8:00am, please have household garbage bags on the curb before then to avoid being missed.
Yard waste bags may or may not be picked up at the discretion of the pickers. Yard waste may be avoided due to trailer capacity limitations.

Good afternoon

We would like to apologize for not getting your garbage picked up this morning February 8th. We had a miscommunication within our membership.

In order to get some of that rubbish out to the transfer station for you, our members will be out tomorrow Sunday February 9th. Please be sure to have your bagged garbage on the curb by 9am and please do not leave it out all night as it will probably be ripped open and spread everywhere by wildlife

Merry Christmas everyone from all the members of the Treherne Kinsmen club. Wishing you all the best in the new year.

Our annual thank you for your support garbage pick up is this Saturday December 28th 2024. This means anyone in Treherne is welcome to put their garbage at the curb by 8am and we will take it to the transfer station for you as a way to say thank you for your continued support. Please be sure to recycle what can be recycled and have any trash you put out in a bag or closed box so we can get it to the transfer station for you.

In 2024, with the communities support, we have been able to donate over $40000 back into deserving projects and programs within the area.
